It's Yappy Hour!
Dear Gentle & Saucy Yappers,
If you have been here for awhile you may notice that there is a new section. I won’t beg the yappers for saucy story times (although it is always so fun to hear random tea). If we don’t have a story for the week the Saucy Story Time section will be replaced with Yappy Hour. Yappy Hour will consist of more yapping from yours truly about whatever pops into my head. It will truly be random yaps. Always feel free to submit ideas or stories at the link at the bottom!
xoxo, Hailey Girl
RANKING OF THE WEEK: My Icks for Men
Icks are absolutely ridiculous (especially mine) but they are very real. In my definition, icks aren’t dealbreakers but they are moments that take cupid’s arrow out of your ass and ground you back in reality. These are specifically for men….women go ahead! |

R.E.P.O.R.T.
R: READING
JUST READ: Notes on an Execution: 3.5 stars (67/107 overall ranking)
We love a unique plot. Although it did drag a bit at the end, I enjoyed the story and the different point of views. I laughed out loud when the serial killer character was describing a woman he was trying to use for his personal gain as “dumb” for believing his false promises and later when that woman did not let him use her, he mopes about how all women do is leave. Now sir….
CURRENTLY READING: Love and Other Words by Christina & Lauren
It has been awhile since I’ve read a romance and I am ready. The spooky season books had me in a chokehold but it is always nice to spice up the genres. I know basically nothing about this book going into it. Going in blind to a book has gone one of two ways for me in the past: Absolutely amazing (Just for the Summer) or absolutely terrifying (Credence). |
E: EATING
Restaurants: Craft Burger and Ruby Slipper
![]() ![]() | Our first restaurant stop is at a food hall in Houston. We love a food hall moment as Ms. Carly ordered ramen and dumplings. I ordered a Truffle Juicy Lucy burger with fries from Craft Burger. The Minnesotan in me is always drawn to a Juicy Lucy (melted cheese in the inside of the burger patty) and although it was messy it was great. The fries were nothing special. Next was breakfast in Pensacola, FL at Ruby Slipper. Unfortunately the french toast bites we split as a table are not pictured. As a savory breakfast girl, I am a big supporter of the shared sweet breakfast treat. Best of both worlds! The biscuits and gravy with bacon, eggs, and a fried green tomato absolutely slapped. |
P: PLAYING.
Music:
![]() | Whenever Bo Burnham hits the top artists… it may be a cause for concern. The current political climate has given me an itch to rewatch his Inside special on Netflix. I have restrained and instead listened to the album on Spotify. We love self-control. Song Recommendation: The Greatest by Billie Eilish |
Podcasts: Giggly Squad (Live)
![]() | Giggly Squad has been featured in Yapple Sauce many times because it is my favorite podcast. So naturally, I had to go see it live. I indeed engaged in lots of giggling with Paige and Hannah. My favorite part was the ‘Is he trash?’ portion where they brought up someone’s boyfriend on stage and roasted him. My least favorite part was the questions but that is because my second hand embarrassment is strong and as you may have noticed from my icks… I don’t love questions. |
Television: Meal Time Shows
My meal time shows are my 30 minute with commercial shows. At the moment those consist of: Abbott Elementary, Bob’s Burgers, and Modern Family. Once I finish Modern Family, I will need to throw a new one in the rotation so recommendations are welcomed. This season of Abbott Elementary is…dare I say… the best one so far. Each new episode I watch is an absolute banger and all the men on that show…YES PLEASE!
Movies: Time Cut
![]() | I love putting on a shitty and mindless Netflix movie and Time Cut absolutely falls in that category. It follows a teenager who time travels back to 2003 a couple days before a serial killer kills her sister. I feel like I’ve seen this movie several times with a slightly different font. It’s slightly painful that current time travel movies are going back to 2003… The movie heavily relied on the nostalgia and top tier soundtrack. It wasn’t horrible but the ending genuinely made zero sense. It basically said “well time travel is fake so we can make up anything else we want!” Rating: 4/10 |
O: OBSESSED
General: #WomeninMaleDominatedFields
Every once in awhile a tik tok trend takes over that I’m absolutely obsessed with and this one may be my favorite of all time! The tik toks of the week will all be this trend if you are not familiar. There is something so special about the shared experiences women have to deal with. I’ve been craving this type of trend ever since the Barbie trends died out because…womanhood!
Pop Culture: Wicked Press Tour
Yes the Jake Paul and Mike Tyson fight happened last week but what is there to even discuss? A 27 year old man beat a 58 year old man in a boxing match? Not really groundbreaking news. What is interesting to me is the wicked press tour. Specifically with Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. I genuinely hope they are ok because the energy I am seeing in interviews is bizarre and slightly concerning. I mean whatever makes the people talk but these girlies cannot stop crying and holding on to each other as if they just escaped the basement of a scary man. Either way… I will be tuning in to the movie. |
R: RECOMMEND: Spray Tans
As a former dancer and sorority gal… I am very familiar with spray tans. I always recommend the occasional spray tan to my pale gals from time to time because they are absolutely an instant confidence booster. Personally I prefer to get sprayed by another human rather than going into a booth because I’m convinced I will mess it up somehow otherwise. If you’re nervous about standing basically naked in front of another person, I swear every spray tan girl I’ve been to has the most bubbly personality. Exactly who you would choose to do poses with your tits out in front of.
T: TREAT: Dessert
![]() | It is important to treat yourself to sweet treats. This gem is from a favorite restaurant of mine - Nancy’s Hustle. It is.. ahem… houjicha semifreddo, persimmon, butterscotch, whipped creme fraiche, and hazelnuts. If you have no idea what you just read… same! I have a strong belief that even if something sounds odd - it is on the menu for a reason. All of these flavors worked wonderfully together and even though it was shared amongst five people, I probably could have devoured it solo. |
SAUCY TAKE OF THE WEEK: New Airport Rules
Now I know I fly more than the average person but going through TSA isn’t THAT difficult. I think people just forget their common decency once they step foot in an airport and I have two proposed ideas to help make the airport experience more enjoyable.
You can take a test to opt for an advanced TSA line (I would immediately take this test and pass with flying colors to avoid the common line)
Reclining your seat on the airplane: banned (there is already very limited room without your seat in my lap)
YAPPY HOUR: Limousines
![]() | Remember when limousines were peak luxury? I mean to everyone who grew up watching Gossip Girl we learned that’s how the elite traveled. It was the coolest thing to have limos for weddings, parties, etc. Seeing them in the wild is now a rare experience and it got me thinking why this was. I feel the flashiness started to be seen as tacky. Instead of limos the celebrities travel in black SUVs. But now that the early 2000’s are trendy again it’s time to bring back the limo in my opinion. |
