Dear Gentle & Saucy Yappers,
It is indeed me although you may not recognize me since I’m back on my cycle girl shit! A strong gust of wind can probably blow me away at this point. I fear the people are right when they say it’s all about who you know because my cycle membership is now zero dollars and zero cents from knowing an ELITE EMPLOYEE. I am manifesting money gains for all the yappers in this new year!
xoxo, Hailey Girl
RANKING OF THE WEEK: The Best Cereals
|
R.E.P.O.R.T.
R: READING
JUST READ: The Christmas Bookshop: 1 stars (112/115 overall ranking)
Perhaps my last Christmas themed read was a fluke and I am indeed…not a holiday book girl! I was positively bored out of mind while reading this. Although I never quit a book, I might have considered quitting this one if it was not a book club read. Nothing particular about this book made me dislike it but there was also almost nothing that made me like the book which was the primary problem. Unfortunately this is the most boring book I have ever read. I fell asleep multiple times while attempting to read it.
Favorite Quote: “He was a good man, Federico, but like many others was guilty of letting his wife handle the domestics, despite the fact that she’d been to law school and graduated higher than he had.”
CURRENTLY READING: The Searcher by Tana French
I am pretty much going into this book blindly because I never learn. I heard great things about the author and the sequel so I am simply going for it. I believe it is a mystery/thriller vibe but the last time I assumed a book’s genre I was thoroughly mistaken. Not to put pressure on my gal Tana French but I need her to take me out of the reading slump my last book put me in. |
E: EATING
Recipe: Pantry Cleanout
In the most boring turn of events while trying to save some money I have been trying to just eat what my fridge and pantry have to offer me before going on a grocery haul. It has been working because my food supply is becoming sparse. Here are some fun examples of my meals. |

P: PLAYING
Music:
![]() | I really feel like my obsessive listening of Sticky got me the Tik Tok dance part of this vibe. Speaking of Tik Tok… is it getting banned or not? I have only heard things that lead me to believe it is getting banned but I’m living in denial. It is an app I am addicted to have learned a lot of new music from. My best example would be Noah Kahan. Tik Tok brought me to my favorite folksy man. Song Recommendation: You’re Gonna Go Far - Noah Kahan |
Podcasts: If Books Could Kill
![]() | My podcasts are not often a place that I learn new things. This is not me saying that podcasts aren’t a great tool for learning. This is me saying that MY podcasts are not a great tool for learning. They are a way for me to giggle and hear yaps! If Books Could Kill is one of my less mind-numbing listens and I learned the origin of “Don’t Mess with Texas.” It’s a very non-Texas origin. It was started as an anti-littering on the road campaign. I would have bet all my money that it had to do with guns because of how the saying is used now but ya know what.. hell yah! Don’t mess with Texas baby! |
Television: Black Mirror
![]() | Instagram notified me that Black Mirror will be returning in 2025. The latest seasons have not hit the same as the earlier ones but I will be tuning in regardless. As you might see from my movie review below, I do not get easily scared but most Black Mirror episodes are the type of things to freak me out. Not because of jump scares but because the scenarios seem horrifying. Especially the episodes that don’t seem too far from our current reality. I love a show that makes you think and there are some Black Mirror episodes that I have never stopped thinking about (and not just the traumatizing Pig episode). |
Movies: Nosferatu
My first introduction to Nosferatu was indeed the hash slinging slasher episode of Spongebob but this movie had quite a different spin. Can we talk about the fact that Bill Skarsgard is the horror genre IT BOY? This movie did not scare me it more made me feel disturbed and grossed out. The gross scenes were the only parts I did not absolutely love. This is the type of movie you just want to have long discussions with someone about. Finding out that Bill did the Count Orlok voice on his own and that Lily-Rose Depp did all THAT without CGI was jaw-dropping. Let us not forget that Aaron Taylor-Johnson also just looked like that all on his own. I loved this freaky deaky scary movie. Rating: 8/10 |
O: OBSESSED
General: Reelshorts
![]() | PLEASE tell me someone else is seeing these ads everywhere. Now you may not be watching the entire ad like myself..but I cannot escape the Reelshorts ads. If you have been lucky enough to not get sucked in, they are ridiculous plot lines (i.e. Homeless Billionaires) with horrible actors. The ads show almost the entire movie and I will sit there and WATCH IT. I really cannot explain the appeal of it but now the actors are coming up on my ‘For You’ page. I’m in too deep and if you are still safe… run while you can. |
Pop Culture: Nikki Glaser Hosting
![]() | BREAKING NEWS: Women are FUNNY! Obviously the yappers were well aware of this fact but the general public is just starting to come around. I had no doubts after her roast of Tom Brady but Nikki absolutely KILLED it. If you are not convinced of her talent, I recommend you check out her opening monologue. This is what we needed after the Jo Koy hosting incident of last year. Her gorgeous gorgeous gowns also need to be talked about because that is what women can bring to the hosting table: Humor AND Fashion! |
R: RECOMMEND: Lazy Girl Kindle Set-Up
![]() Pictured: My One-Star Christmas Read | Tik Tok is quite the theme of this Yapple edition but I was indeed influenced by someone on that app to get this set up. As if my Kindle was not addicting enough… I can now read my books while my Kindle is held up for me and I can turn the page at a distance with the press of a button. If you are a Kindle gal, I highly recommend this set-up. |
T: TREAT: Giftcards
‘Tis the season of not spending your own money but instead spending the gift cards you were gifted. I’m the type of gal to use my gift cards almost immediately because otherwise I will forget about them. Here are some of my picks! |

SAUCY TAKE OF THE WEEK: Dry January
Not to be controversial but it seems quite convenient that everyone wants to quit drinking for my birthday month. People are already trying to be better in all ways that would go against my birthday festivities but this is the final straw. You will not catch me ever participating in dry January but I also don’t have an issue with alcohol. So if you do struggle… just disregard everything I said and maybe feel a little badly for the January birthdays in your life!
SAUCY STORY TIME (YAPPER WRITE-INS):
On today’s episode of men ain’t shit. I was at a party and noticed a guy that looked like my friend’s bf. I had only seen this man in pictures, never in person, but my friend was in a serious relationship with him. This man was sitting at another table with another girl. The girl came around to our table to introduce him to us and that’s when I heard his name. It was definitely my friend’s bf. He obviously didn’t know me so he didn’t know what was about to happen. After getting some liquid courage, I went up to him and asked him if he wanted to tell my friend that he got caught or if he would like for me to tell her. This guy had the audacity to say “no you go ahead and tell her.” I texted her that instant. Months go by and unfortunately my friend stays with him. Oddly enough she introduces me to his best friend and sets me up on a blind date. Unfortunately, we started dating. While I was in a relationship with the best friend, my friend’s bf had the courage to bring different girls around. I would always text my friend what was happening and my bf (ex now) would get after me and tell me to keep my mouth shut. Why would these stupid boys think I was going to choose them over my friend? Moral of the story: once a cheater, always a cheater.
