Go Women!

Dear Gentle & Saucy Yappers,

I cannot believe that I forgot to address that we are now in International Women’s Month. I hope women everywhere, particularly the women yappers can forgive me. Remember to thank and appreciate your favorite women. My favorite way to appreciate a woman is giving them a plethora of money. To the male yappers… keep that in mind!

xoxo, Hailey Girl

RANKING OF THE WEEK: Favorite Sandwiches

No I’m not entertaining including Hot Dog/Burger in the debate because they are in a league of their own

  1. Italian Deli Sandwich - I’m not sure how to describe this but the best sandwich I’ve ever had was in NY from an Italian Deli featuring chicken cutlets, pesto, and mozzarella… so THAT

  2. Cheesesteak - and I prefer the Cheese Whiz to Provolone… sue me!

  3. Breakfast Sandwich - Bacon, Egg, and Cheese!!

  4. Classic Deli Sandwich - Turkey or Roast Beef preferably

  5. Fried Chicken Sandwich - obviously

  6. French Dip Sandwich - Didn’t make the top 5 but could not leave this beauty out

R: READING

CURRENTLY READING: Triptych by Karin Slaughter

Not very International Women’s month of me because this book has a lot of MALE characters. Unfortunately, I have simply been in a reading slump. There is no ill feelings towards this book (yet) but I have not been motivated to pick up my kindle lately. This could be due to me having a crazy busy week. With my flight tonight, I fully expect to get back into my reading grind.

E: EATING

Restaurant: First Watch

First Watch is my favorite chain breakfast establishment. I also had the perfect spot in the restaurant to truly watch my fellow patrons. I spotted embarrassing parents, annoying kids, and hot men. What else could a gal want!? I usually go for the Bacado omelette every single time but the seasonal menu was speaking to me. Pictured is the Raspberry Ricotta French Toast and since I was already going crazy with a different order than usual, I also got the million dollar potatoes. Both were great but the million dollar potatoes MUST be revisited.

Rodeo Food: Loaded Fries

We all know that I have a soft spot for fair food. The more ridiculous the better. You can barely tell by this picture but these are indeed fries. Fries topped with pulled pork, nacho cheese, bbq sauce, jalapenos, and … boneless buffalo wings? The boneless buffalo wings were quite average but the pulled pork was simply amazing.

P: PLAYING

Music:

As a spotify user, I am unsure about what goes on in the Apple Music world but Spotify lets you make joint playlists and see who added what. As my sister’s bachelorette approaches, the crew collaborated on a playlist and the vibes are all over the place. An unhinged playlist is my favorite. I went with party vibes as we will be celebrating in vegas. It was hard not to add Meg Thee Stallion’s entire discography but I was so brave and refrained myself.

Song Recommendation: Wanna Be (with Megan Thee Stallion) - GloRilla

Podcasts: Giggly Squad

To whoever thought I would not learn anything from Hannah Berner and Paige Desorbo… wrong! They introduced me to the concept of placebo buttons which are a bunch of buttons around the world that simply do not need to be pressed (like crosswalks) but are there so users have the illusion of control. And you know what…. they got me because I will continue pressing all buttons. I just feel like the day I don’t press a button it will be one that has 100% functionality and I will stand at the crosswalk like a fool!

Television: Survivor (Marquesas)

Alert the press, I am now a survivor watcher. In two short days I completed my first season of the show and I am now well into my second season. Of course I had to start with Boston Rob’s first season. It is absolutely wild the things that were casually said on television in the early 2000’s. I just have a need to watch things in chronological order and although this wasn’t the very first season, I have heard it is the first ‘gameplay’ season. Besides the unhinged commentary, my least favorite part of this season was that there were a lot of extremely Godly players. I heard one too many prayers for my liking of a non-religious show.

Favorite Player: Kathy

Movies: What Jennifer Did

I was in the mood for a true-crime documentary. Quickly I figured out that I was already familiar with this story from listening to a podcast. I NEED to discuss the title of this documentary….. The first half of the documentary they are portraying Jennifer as an innocent girl to reveal a shocking twist but the thing is we all know she did it. Why do we know she did it? The title quite literally spoils that. The cover spoils that. It was truly insane watching a documentary set up a “plot twist” that they had already given the answer to.

O: OBSESSED

General: Rodeo

This was not my first rodeo! Now I know this does not apply to all rodeos but I love that the Houston Rodeo combines the vibes of Fair/Bar/Rodeo/Concert. It’s hard not to have a good time. Personally I love to see the horse girlies barrel race. My favorite part was buying an entire bottle of wine (that I was encouraged to carry around) and getting a cutesy free wine cup with purchase!

Pop Culture: Southwest

Pour one out for the Southwest loyalists. I am a Delta girl through and through BUT I always had a soft spot for Southwest because of their two free checked bags. They were truly the only ones offering that luxury so it was quite easy to overlook their other flaws including no screens, no chargers, and no seat assignments. The CEO said this is what the customers want and I can confidently say not a single customer wanted this.

R: RECOMMEND: Kindle Unlimited/Libby

As made obvious from this newsletter, I read a fair amount of books. At the same time, I barely spend money on books because I utilize Libby and Kindle Unlimited. Kindle Unlimited is obviously for the Kindle gals but it needs to be noted that they are stepping it up with their selection these days. Libby is for all the reading gals! Get yourself a library card and start renting free books online people!

T: TREAT: Dubai Chocolate Strawberries (and Peach Ice Cream)

As a pistachio lover, I have not stopped thinking about the oh-so popular Dubai Chocolate since it first became trendy. I got my beautiful dubai chocolate strawberries from Royal Roastery. There were so many yummy treats in that place I was overwhelmed but I was easily influenced by the girly pops with me in line. They were so excited to find the peach ice cream. I simply followed their lead and snatched that as well. Both of these were almost too beautiful to eat but fret not they were eaten. It’s hard to go wrong with a sweet treat.

SAUCY TAKE OF THE WEEK: Justice for Horse Girls

The horse girl stereotypes are taking away from how great horses are. I’m not afraid to say it. I love horses. As a child, I had to be a closeted horse girl because being out was not a good look. You were looked at as weird and crazy. I don’t personally know any horse girls but I understand where they are coming from. I am now looking to obtain a horse and a cowboy to take care of the horse for me. If you know anyone who could help with this inquiry, please let me know.

YAPPY HOUR: Cool Story Bro

Recently I had a war flashback of my ‘Cool Story Bro’ t-shirt. Why was that a thing? I mean it probably should not be surprising given this saying was at it’s peak popularity during the mustache craze. As a middle schooler, I don’t even think I knew what this means. Current day, I don’t think I know what it means. I have a couple of guesses of course but none that give an explanation as to why this was ever a thing.

DATING PROFILE OF THE WEEK:

I fear this man is confused. He is looking for a travel agent but stumbled across the bumble app. Truly curious about what his original plan was before his trip to Nairobi.
