Waking Up In Vegas

Dear Gentle & Saucy Yappers,

To all the people not in education close your eyes… but it is truly difficulty to get back to reality after Spring Break. Yes I am grateful to even have a spring break but my problem is that I’m greedy. I want more. It is a slight taste for summer and that is still months away. At the end of the day… I want to not work. That is why I have to be in a career I’m passionate about because otherwise what is the point. Besides earning money for survival and pleasure I guess!

xoxo, Hailey Girl

RANKING OF THE WEEK: Hot Girl Historical Interests

  1. The Stanford Prison Experiment - let’s redo this experiment with women, I’m trying to see something

  2. Titanic - Leo and Kate helped make this a hot girl interest

  3. Chernobyl - this one will always get to me

  4. Pompeii - there is a very specific movie I watched on this in History class that I can never forget

  5. Salem Witch Trials - duh!

R: READING

JUST READ: Triptych: 4 stars (51/123 overall ranking)

I am now locked into this series. Did I fully think about this series being 12 books long… no, no I did not. But I feel I don’t need to read them in quick succession. It was truly a solid crime thriller book.

Favorite Quote: “It didn’t take a Harvard economist to figure out that it’d be a hell of a lot cheaper spending money on helping keep kids safe when they were younger than it was to put them in jail when they were older.”

CURRENTLY READING: The Perfect Couple by Elin Hilderbrand

I rented this book from Libby without knowing that it was my gal Elin Hilderbrand. How could I not notice when her covers are so specific and iconic!? Well this cover has fallen victim to an alternate cover because it is now a television show. I simply can never support a movie or television show book cover. After I finish this book, I will be watching the show to compare!

E: EATING

Restaurant: RPM Italian

No hate to RPM Italian because it was a fabulous Las Vegas dinner and I would recommend but I wanted to review Din Tai Fung. It is truly hard to mourn this cancelled reservation when my Tik Tok feed is full of reviews. The day club drunkenness won and therefore Din Tai Fung lost. Truly there was nothing bad at RPM. The meatballs, the homemade pasta (vodka rigatoni of course), and the chicken parmesan were all mouth water worthy.

P: PLAYING

Music:

I’m going to be honest I cannot remember a single time I listened to Brooks & Dunn this past week. But I am seeing them at the rodeo this upcoming weekend so there is that. I truly know one song by them by name and it is a BANGER. Neon Moon stans rise. I will be honest I know that song because of the Kacey Musgraves version though. I’m simply trying to slow dance to this song with someone. Let me know if you volunteer.

Song Recommendation: Neon Moon - Brooks & Dunn, Kacey Musgraves

Podcasts: Brooke and Connor Make a Podcast

Yes I listen to my podcasts on 1.5 speed! How do you think I am able to consume so many podcast episodes!? For reasons uninteresting to everyone including myself, I had to listen to an episode of BNC on a different platform than I usually do. I was in my car listening and thinking are Brooke and Connor high because they are speaking so slowly. Only to realize I was listening to them at a normal speed and not my usual 1.5 speed. Now I am unsure if my brain is now warped to think that 1.5 speed is normal or if Brooke and Connor only sound normal at a 1.5 speed. Help!

Television: The Sex Lives of College Girls

This has been such a fun, low stress watch for me lately and I find out the show has been CANCELLED. I am so sad but will keep watching. I truly love all the characters. Renee Rapp’s character, Leighton is my favorite and I know she leaves in season 3 which may be the reason the show is ending after season 3. But I had heard people still liked the show post Renee so I had hope. Rest in peace to another great girly pop show.

Movies: Anora

I had to watch the movie that won Best Picture and Best Actress at the Oscars. While I really enjoyed this movie, I don’t think I am understanding the hype. It is clear I am not a film bro because I don’t know what makes this movie the BEST. I thought the movie was silly goofy and sad at the same time. Great representation on how shitty a momma’s boy can be. Mikey Madison undoubtedly killed this role though. I saw that she is the only Ghostface to ever win an Oscar and that is the kind of statistic I like to hear!

Rating: 7/10

O: OBSESSED

General: Middle Aged Women in Vegas

The middle aged women in Vegas are actively fighting the Karen stereotype and I am obsessed with them all. Typically the girlies could expect that when walking around the Vegas casinos in a bikini and feathered cowgirl hat in 57 degree weather to get some judgmental glances. And while we probably still did get those glances we didn’t even notice with the middle aged women cheering us on so loudly. One lady went as far as to ask to take a picture of us. I can only imagine the photo will end up on Facebook with the kindest caption. Wishing she could facebook friend request me immediately.

Pop Culture: Nikki Blonsky

Nikki Blonsky’s cameos are currently going viral and they are a hard watch. Truly the Nikki Blonsky of it all is a difficult pill to swallow as a gal with severe second hand embarrassment. But I have to say I understand Nikki taking her moment of fame with Zac Efron and making that her personality for the rest of her life. I truly don’t know if I would get over it either. Word of advice if you don’t want to be on Nikki Tik Tok… immediately scroll at the first sight of her. Otherwise you will see every cameo and tweet and interview she has ever done.

R: RECOMMEND: Wall of Shame Decoration

Forget the balloon arches (because they are truly the worst and should be left to the professionals) and welcome the ‘Wall of Shame’ into the decoration space. It is not only a conversation starter but a way to make the decorations personal! What is the point of having embarrassing photos of your friend if you are not going to display the pictures at a pivotal moment in their life!

T: TREAT: Magic Mike

When the show first started I had my hesitations but quickly I was fully on board. In a very me fashion I still wanted to know if all the Magic Mikes are friends outside of the show but I was also blushing and dropping my jaw at some of the performances like a normal girly! Crazy to think I could have witnessed a future Channing Tatum. All the men truly catered to every single type or preference a woman could possibly have. I personally was drawn towards the man covered in tattoos. If the men did not dance to Pony I would have asked for a refund but fret not… Pony was featured!

SAUCY TAKE OF THE WEEK: Crying Your Way to the Top

Being a ‘Karen’ is out and crying is in. HERE. ME. OUT. Crying comes quite naturally to me so I have perfected this method. I have gotten myself out of MULTIPLE difficult situations including student loans and a cancelled flight by simply crying. It makes people uncomfortable and sympathetic. Think about it, who would you rather help? The bitch or the cryer. It’s always going to be the cryer. Cry your way to the answer you want ladies! This saucy take may not work for men and I apologize for that!

YAPPY HOUR:

I have been to Las Vegas four different times but this past trip was the first time I a.) experienced it in the stereotypical Vegas fashion and b.) went without my father. Let me just say it is DRAINING. Fun but absolutely draining. I typically leave a trip feeling like time flew by. I left Vegas feeling like I was there for 5 ½ years (I was there for a long weekend). I would do it again in a heartbeat but I need my recovery time.

SOCIAL MEDIA CORNER:

DATING PROFILE OF THE WEEK:

No this is absolutely bat shit crazy. I need to know what kind of individual thinks this is the prompt answer that will entice women on dating apps.

TWEETS OF THE WEEK:

TIK TOKS OF THE WEEK:

  • I welcome trauma dumping of this nature

  • To be a bitch is to be free

  • The struggles of being employed

  • Girls who can finish Tik Tok trends deserve a round of applause
