Edition 22

In honor of completing my three rounds of holiday flights and hearing the most insufferable man talk about highly inappropriate topics via facetime in the flight seating area at 6 in the morning here are the worst people to be sat next to on a plane. I find myself usually sat next to these types of individuals and never my destined meet cute but it’s FINE.

1. THAT Guy - who is THAT guy? Oh it’s the guy that when you’re walking down the aisle you are praying that you aren’t sat next to him because nothing about him seems safe

2. Karen - my second hand embarrassment cannot handle anyone who is going to be a problem

3. A child - need I say more

4. The talkative dad - they have a lot to say and none of it is interesting

5. The NFL player - Unless it is Xavier, it does not make for the most comfortable flight experience

I am indeed reading another holiday book in the new year! Why? It is a book club book that I procrastinated of course. I am too early in the book to have any real opinions yet. A new year means a new reading goal on goodreads. I am being ambitious this year and aiming for 70 books. I did 68 last year so I feel it is an attainable goal. Fingers crossed!

You’ve heard of girl dinner but have you heard of Minnesota girl dinner. It does not get more Minnesota than my french onion soup/cheese curd girl dinner combo while at a restaurant called Twin City Grill which is located at the Mall of America. I was not hungry enough for a real meal but at the end of the day this may be better than a real meal.

I like to think that everyone knows what the cookies are that have peanut butter with a hershey kiss in the middle. But if not… you really should. This is the cookie I made for my book club/cookie exchange so hopefully the masses like it as well!

I had my Christmas music moment (I was DJ at the family function). If it not obvious from the top artists: I was playing my recommended Christmas Martini playlist. Now I am back to my regularly scheduled music and I still cannot stop listening to Sticky by Tyler the Creator.

Song Recommendation: Getting Older by Billie Eilish

It was announced via a Giggly Squad episode that Paige and Craig are no longer together. I was only privy to the existence of Craig because of Paige but I did love them together. My heart breaks for Paige and to all the people on social media who are tearing her apart for this… you were never team Paige and simply are not a girl’s girl. How embarrassing…

I have been telling people forever that this show is on my list and now finally I can tell people “I just started that show.” Two episodes in and I’m hooked. I was reading on my little t.v. show app and so many people were commenting on how they don’t find the male main character attractive. WAS THE MAN WHO RUINED YOUR LIFE IN COLLEGE ACTUALLY HOT? The answer is no. It is lore accurate to have a toxic ugly man. Honestly the show is making me miss the simulation that is college. Everything was so dramatic and entertaining then. Life is still dramatic and entertaining but now the characters are in different settings and have full time jobs which is truly unfortunate.

I did not love this movie. I did not hate this movie. I watched it and probably will not watch it again. Unfortunately I feel in the minority with this opinion because I think most people felt positively about this movie. I had two big gripes.

Gripe #1: The humor. It was a serious movie and the “funny” moments did not make me laugh and just felt forced. It took away from the movie for me.

Gripe #2: At the end of the day, all movies are unrealistic but this man was dealing with criminals who made a deal with the devil because everything worked out for them. You’re telling me a TSA agent called 911…made it to the operator… and when he didn’t say anything on the other line the 911 operator was just like “ok damn bye.” I feel they MIGHT follow up on that call.

This has been an obsession I have been holding back on but I LOVE the Minnesota Vikings and finally going to a game solidified that obsession. Yes, I got to see the High School Musical celebration in person. The stadium was so cool… I mean it fake snowed several times and the energy was amazing. If you want a NFL team to root for, may I suggest the Vikings because although they are stressful they are fun and no one will accuse you of bandwagoning. Skol!

I will admit that I follow neither Hailey nor Justin on social media but Tik tok kept me in the know. They are apparently passive aggressively speaking through instagram stories. Yikes. Sharing songs about “moving on” and “cheating.” The thing is if all of these actions are innocent and Hailey is truly just in her SZA era… they have to know what people are going to think. So they either needed some publicity are the girlies are fighting.

I have been using the 1 second Everyday app since 2017. I am not going to think about how long ago that was so I don’t hurt my own feelings. I swear I will be filming a second of the day until I’m old. If you have been thinking about participating this is your sign! “My life is boring” “I have nothing to record” Your life is not boring and you have plenty to record. I live alone and often work from home and I still find moments to record! It makes you appreciate all the fun things and memories you make in life!

My favorite stadium treat is a pretzel and cheese. I love a hotdog but honestly the reason I get hotdogs so often is that places will sell cardboard pretzels for $10 and hotdogs are more consistent. I was HYPED that the Vikings game offered a top tier pretzel with some top tier cheese for dipping.
