RANKING OF THE WEEK: The Most Disappointing Halloween Candy To Receive

  1. Almond Joy/Mounds (this brought me zero joy as a child and I couldn’t even pawn them off on my parents)

  2. Raisins (I’m not even a Raisin hater but why on EARTH were people handing these out)

  3. Licorice (this went immediately to my parent’s because no)

  4. Candy Corn (could be further up but gets credit for festivity but also still disgusting)

  5. Smarties (thanks for the Chalk!)

R: READING:

JUST READ: Anxious People: 2.5 stars (87/102 overall ranking)

I did it! I finished the book! It honestly is a bummer because this book had lots of insightful chapters surrounding humanity and the struggles of being a human. Unfortunately those chapters were surrounded by a boring plot. I genuinely did not care about the unfolding of the plot whatsoever.

CURRENTLY READING: Dark Places by Gillian Flynn

Sharp Objects is one of my favorite books and although I never read Gone Girl, the movie was amazing (If I see a movie first - I have no interest in reading the book afterwards), so I am very much trust Gillian Flynn to give me another banger with this book. So far, so good! They are setting up a very obvious twist/ending so I am hoping that is a fake out that leads to something shocking. By reading this book, I am once again putting myself in a quick timeline to finish my book club book but I have faith in my quick reading abilities.

E: EATING

Restaurant: Arby’s

I’m here to speak my truth. Arby’s is good and I’m not afraid to say it! Beef and cheddar!? Curly Fries!? Shit slaps and all the SHEEPLE are too afraid to admit it. Also, they by far have the best fast food mozzarella sticks. I will proudly continue to keep Arby’s in business even though I do a horrible job at it because I probably go once a year.

P: PLAYING

Music:

A very tragic and sad event has brought One Direction back in my life at full force. They never left but due to their lack of new music, they took a back seat. It’s wild that the lyrics I learned as a teenager have not slightly left my memory. I used to be able to name a One Direction song after the first note played but I have sadly lost that ability. Fireproof is the best One Direction song. Four is the best album although Made in the A.M. is severely slept on. Night Changes is the best single. One Direction music still slaps, it was never a phase!

Podcasts: Giggly Squad

Paige and Hannah were discussing the difference of how girls with brothers and girls with sisters fight with friends. Their hypothesis was that girls with sisters fight more with their friends because fighting is more normalized to them. As a gal with sisters, I slightly disagree. Do sisters fight more than sister/brother dynamics? Absolutely but not with their friends, they fight more with each other. I think if Hannah and Paige discussed QUALITY of fights over QUANTITY with friends, they would be on to something. I tend to think that you do not want to be on my bad side because I know how to fight (verbally - I plan on never throwing hands in my lifetime). The lesson here is to not fight a gal with a sister unless you have valid reasoning to do so otherwise the odds are not in your favor.

Television: Bob’s Burgers

Bob’s Burgers is a meal time show for me. What is a meal time show, you ask? It’s usually a 30 minute show that I pop on the t.v. while eating. Bob’s Burgers is wholesome and I genuinely love it. Yes this show has made me cry but I don’t know how much that says because I cry at everything. And of course, Louise is the best character.

Movies: Saturday Night & A Haunting In Venice

Honestly need to know how accurate this movie was because wow it stressed me out. The movie covers the chaotic 90 minutes prior to the first episode of SNL. Every single actor ATE and Chevy Chase’s character looked scarily like young Chevy Chase.

Rating: 7/10

I watched this movie long distance with Ms. Lesley after a failed date. I always enjoy a whodunnit movie and I did not accurately predict the killer in this one! Editing is the reason scary movies are scary and this movie had potential to be spooky but the editing made it not scary at all. I usually don’t have trouble keeping up with multiple characters but this one was a bit overwhelming.

Rating: 5/10

O: OBSESSED

General: Leaving Anonymous Notes

It honestly made my day to receive this anonymous note on my pumpkin in my apartment complex. I need suggestions on what note I should return. I was toying with the idea of “I’m the most terrifying b*tch you’ll ever meet.” Unfortunately that note will only hit if they are educated in Jersey Shore lore.

Pop Culture: Voting

Early voting has started almost everywhere and election day is November 5th. Plenty of time still to make your plan and get your ass up to vote because we are not going back!

R: RECOMMEND: Fall Nails

Another fall bucket list item checked off with fall nails. The color is “Cherry Mocha” and I would not be offended if every single yapper ran to get this exact color. Prepare to be sick of me because these are my favorite nails I’ve ever gotten. In addition, I am also obsessed with being able to walk to my nail salon because I hate driving and it makes me feel like I live in a walkable city!

T: TREAT: Suckers (or Lollipops I guess)

I was so in to my peach dum dum sucker that I had to give my Post Malone air freshener a taste test (Midwest represent! We say sucker, not lollipop). I've always been a blue raspberry enthusiast, but I might just be switching my allegiance to the peachy side. After a trip to the doctor where your insurance foots a few hundred bucks and you still end up throwing out a hundred, you’ve earned the right to indulge in a “free” treat.

SAUCY TAKE OF THE WEEK: The Fatal Flaw Rule

If you know me you have probably heard my take on the “fatal flaw.” I don’t necessarily feel this take is groundbreaking but it is how I personally navigate relationships. Everyone has a flaw, including your friends, significant other, and family. You might not even notice someone’s flaws because you love them so much, but once a flaw is a repeat offender or you start to become bothered by it - it’s called the Fatal Flaw. It is totally normal and okay for someone to have a fatal flaw because no one is perfect but my theory is that you have a choice to make. Does the person’s good traits outweigh their flaws? Most of the time the answer is yes. After that you have to put that trait to the side because you know it’s going to be a thing with them or reassess how much effort you put into their relationship. If the flaw(s) outweigh the good? Very simple, the relationship is not worth it and they’ve got to go.

SAUCY STORY TIME (YAPPER WRITE-INS):

“My rant yap goes out to all the friends we have that are anxious and make their anxieties OUR problem. Like baby I love you girlie BUT I have bigger fish to fry, bigger bugs to buzz, bigger birds to bother! If I tell you I am super busy & cannot talk right now or I’m too overwhelmed with life (*cough cough FL hurricane season*) please don’t keep calling me 3 times a day and send me 15 texts. Don’t contact multiple of our mutual friends saying you’re “worried about me” because I’m not responding. I responded & communicated that I’d be MIA so don’t send out search parties. Now I feel like the bad friend for not babysitting your anxieties like you want me to & now you’re added to my list of current stressors”

LAST WEEK UPDATE: Unanimously the yappers voted that the roommate hater is … NOT THE ASSHOLE.
