JUST READ: The Bodyguard: 4 stars (38/120 overall ranking)
My number one complaint about romances is that they get repetitive. The same tropes and plot lines over and over again. And while I don’t want to read a romance book where they don’t end up together I need some variety and this book gave me that variety! It was a very quick and easy read! No smut but very cute!
Favorite Quote: “We’re very dismissive, as a culture, about heartbreak. We talk about it like it’s funny, or silly, or cute. As if it can be cured by a pint of Haagen-Dazs and a set of flannel pajamas. But of course, a breakup is a type of grief. It’s the death of not just any relationship - but the most important one in your life. There’s nothing cute about it.”
CURRENTLY READING: On the Line by Naomi Loud
 | Honestly the tagline of this book GOT ME. “Treat your girl right or a line cook will” is absolutely insane but I am here for it. It’s about time that line cooks got their romance story so I am excited to read this one! |

Restaurant: Shamrocks
 | To my non-midwesterners, I am here to teach you about the Juicy Lucy. She has been making her rounds but I realize it is not a known burger everywhere at the moment. Shamrocks in Minnesota has a 10/10 Juicy Lucy which is a burger where the cheese is melted and inside the patty. Yes, the servers do warn you to be careful with a Juicy Lucy so you don’t burn yourself with molten lava cheese. You simply cannot go wrong. |

Podcasts: The Comment Section
Drew has WRONGLY been getting some hate online because she promotes “hating men” while being a relationship. News flash: you can do both AND she just hates on awful men so there is that! Also, in one of her latest episodes a guest was hyping up the MSP airport and the MN state fair. I always love an outsider to show Minnesota love because obviously I am biased but it’s not the irrelevant state everyone makes it out to be!
Television: White Lotus
 | Season 3 is finally here and no spoilers here don’t worry. Although I don’t even know what I would spoil from one episode. I’m not sure I can keep up with the week by week releases as I am born to binge watch. The theme song… it is just not hitting like the first two did. Maybe it will grow on me but I cannot see myself throwing ass to this theme song. I am still sussing out the vibes of most of the guests besides the family…. no vibes need to be sussed out because they are giving Sweet Home Alabama immediately. |
Movies: Pride and Prejudice
 | Ever since the Barbie movie name dropped this movie I have felt left out for never watching it. To take it a step further I have never even been interested in watching this movie. I have always struggled with period pieces but Bridgerton is bringing me to the dark side. While I did enjoy the movie, I did not understand the obsession. Perhaps it requires a rewatch. Rating: 6/10 |
O: OBSESSED
General: Board/Card Game Nights
 | I am one of those gals who loves a game night! It is important to note that the games I am playing are simple and fun because I realize there are complicated/intense board games out there. To the people who love those…loveee that for you but that is not my journey! I completely understand the hatred of learning a new game because it is borderline torture. My personal approach is to not listen to the instructions at all and say “let’s just learn as we play.” For the fun and simple games, that method will always work. |
Pop Culture: A$AP Rocky
 | A$AP was found not guilty and I couldn’t even tell you what for! All I saw was the video of him jumping into Rihanna’s arms after the verdict. Same. The defense encouraged the jury to not be swayed by Rihanna’s presence but that seems simply impossible. I am going to be swayed by RiRi!! |
R: RECOMMEND: My Travel Set-Up
 | Now that I have my Beis backpack as my personal item and my Beis carry on suitcase (unfortunately no sponsored by Beis), I feel like a true travel GIRLY. There are probably plenty of great travel product brands but Beis really does it cutely and efficiently. With my luggage, I of course need a cute drink (Caribou Fruit Shaker) and my kindle for gate time reading. I have plenty of time to enjoy a cute drink and reading from arriving to the airport absurdly early. I will not be caught dead rushing to my flight if I have any control on my arrival time. |
T: TREAT: Espresso Martinis
 | It seems insane that I have never explicitly talked about my love of espresso martinis on Yapple Sauce. It is my favorite cocktail without hesitation. My perfect espresso martini: good espresso to sweetness ratio, smooth, froth or cream, espresso beans (3). This espresso martini was a Valentine’s drink and gets the bean pass since it included a candy heart instead. |
SAUCY TAKE OF THE WEEK: High School Reunions
This year is my ten year high school reunion. The social media pages for the reunion have started and let me just say… I have never been less interested in an event ever. We all know I love to do things for the plot, for the bit, for the vacation but the line needs to be drawn somewhere and this is it. From my understanding, the whole point of a reunion is to see what everyone is up to. Social media has kept me in the know and the SINGULAR person (hey girl!) that I want to keep up with from high school… I do! It feels like when people said go to prom, you will regret not going! Prom was a very non-memorable experience as I’m sure this high school reunion will be but I won’t be there to find out!
YAPPY HOUR: Type C
I do not identify as a Type A or Type B person. I feel like introducing a Type C would solve this problem. Of course, there could be infinite amount of types but Type A and Type B are two extremes. The Type A that plans and organizes everything is not me and the Type B that is spontaneous and go with the flow is also not me. I really only think of these “Types” during work or a trip. In my categorizations, Type B is now Type C. The new Type B is someone who likes a reservation and an outline of a plan but a fully planned itinerary is not going to work for them.
