JUST READ: Girls Our Age: 4.5 stars (29/210 overall ranking)
If you have Kindle Unlimited, I would highly recommend this one! All the characters in this book were deeply flawed but in a relatable way because they are girls our age! This book gave Sex and the City vibes in the way that it’s about a group of girl friends who are navigating their friendship, relationships, and personal lives while not having it figured out whatsoever. Relatable.
Phoebe Berman’s Gonna Lose It: 4 stars (48/210 overall ranking)
Two good books in a week! I was nervous to read Brooke’s debut book because I love her so much but I’m also a tad picky with books. She did not disappoint me. It was hard not to see Phoebe as Brooke Averick. The book felt like a genuine rom-com. I laughed at several parts and could imagine other parts on the big screen. It hit hard as Phoebe is a 29 year old single gal who does not have the best relationship luck. Relatable.
CURRENTLY READING: Next of Kin by Hannah Bonam-Young
I’m not particularly in the mood to read romance so I’m not sure why I am reading this book to be honest! I loved her other romance book that I read though so perhaps it won’t be a bad choice!

Restaurant: Loro Asian Smokehouse & BBQ
This place has a 10/10 happy hour. The food and drinks are cheap from 2-6. On top of that I went on a Tuesday where the Martini’s are $3 all day. It perhaps holds the crown for my favorite Houston happy hour spot.

It’s Hot Girl Summer so obviously a HGS playlist is needed to be created. It’s still a work in progress but has a solid start. Megan’s music is heavily featured but this is obviously a given.

If you are not familiar with ‘Imposter Syndrome’ it is where you feel incompetent and self-doubt in your skill as a highly skilled individual. Hannah was asked about it in an interview when she has never felt ‘Imposter Syndrome.’ She mentioned that every woman is supposed to have it and men are not asked about Imposter Syndrome. SAY IT LOUDER HANNAH! I have heard that term so much and not to discredit if it’s something you deal with BUT if you are a woman it is more than ok to not have Imposter Syndrome. You are THAT capable girl!
Television: Survivor All Stars
My survivor journey continues and I have finished my first returning player season, season 8! This was a tough season for me because on one hand it was dark. There were a couple of depressing elements in the first half that of course did not age well. On the other hand, the returning players were entertaining. As of right now it is in 3rd place for my overall seasons rankings.
O: OBSESSED
General: Board Nights
I know I have reported on Board Nights before but I’m bringing it back because these boards are different and might spark some new inspiration. It really is such a cute and fun way to gather with the girlies. I brought the ‘Movie Night’ board featuring popcorn and candy. Let me tell you - I forgot how delicious Boom Chicka Pop kettle corn is. Other boards featured are: McDonald’s board, Elote Board, Dessert Board, Charcutier Board, and a Shirley Temple Board.
Pop Culture: Wronged Woman to Booked Woman Pipeline
Shaboozey recently posted a video of Ciara previewing the music video that she will be featured in. EXACTLY RIGHT! It made me think about how these two Bravo gals (Ariana and Ciara) were publicly humiliated by pathetic men and then had the glow up they deserved! Ariana and Ciara are staying booked. We love to see these women win! What if a glow up is waiting for you after ditching these shitty men?
R: RECOMMEND: Resell Apps
Not to flex on you all but I’m a successful depop girl now! No but actually it’s a great way to sell and buy clothes. I recently bought a top for my future Jersey Shore party on there! It’s sustainable and cheaper (as long as you stay away from the crazy depop sellers on there). There are plenty of normal people who don’t resell things for a ridiculous price on the resell apps though!
T: TREAT: Frozen Drinks
Part of a Hot Girl Summer is switching over your drinks to be frozen whenever possible. There is something about a drink that will give you brain freeze in the summer. A frozen espresso martini? I’m gagged.
SAUCY TAKE OF THE WEEK: Reality T.V.
I don’t think most reality T.V. is for me and that’s hard for me to say because I love the drama and I love the tea. We all know I stay tuned in to the drama via Tik Tok but I can’t do the whole show because I cannot remove myself from the ‘reality’ aspect. I get way too angry and upset with the people on my screen. I feel like I am being personally wronged. I had to have the realization that I can turn off the T.V. So yes, Love Island U.S.A. is back but I won’t be tuning in now or probably ever.
YAPPY HOUR: Safety Patrol
I’m unsure if this was a thing at other Elementary Schools but I recently stumbled across my elementary school’s Facebook page and confirmed that the safety patrol program is still going strong there. You might be thinking that safety patrol was similar to hallway monitor and you would be incorrect. It is fifth grader’s fully controlling the flow of traffic. And if you were wondering, I was a safety control captain so I indeed instructed my fellow fifth graders on where they needed to be that morning or afternoon to handle pick up and drop off. I often found myself abusing my power and putting my friends together and my enemies far away. I like to think that traffic ran smoothly under my watch but thinking back on this I fear that was a lot of power for my 10 year old self.
