Dear Gentle & Saucy Yappers,
As a lover of unique fashion, the met gala is starting to bore me. Perhaps it’s because it feels particularly dystopian in these trying times. I will shout out Emma Chamberlain’s dress because in my opinion if there was a competition, she won.
xoxo, Hailey Girl
RANKING OF THE WEEK: Accessories

Purse - Luckily, I have purse! I am a bag girly through and through. I wish I could have a purse for every single one of my outfits.
Necklace - My favorite jewelry has always been a necklace.
Earrings- A close second for jewelry. The only downer is that my hair sometimes hides them.
Sunglasses - My favorite accessory to hide my face behind. Also can double as a headband
Bracelets - Charm bracelets, bangles, dainty bracelets. Love them all.

R: READING
JUST READ: Severance: 3 stars (140/202 overall ranking)
I really wanted to like this book. The concept was cool and it was wild how close the author was able to get to describing a pandemic similar to C*vid before C*vid had even happened. The ending was extremely underwhelming and there were many time jump chapters that felt boring. I wanted to read more about the main plot but that felt like a secondary story in the book.
Favorite Quote: “To live in a city is to take part in and to propagate its impossible systems. To wake up. To go to work in the morning. It is also to take pleasure in those systems because, otherwise, who could repeat the same routines, year in, year out?”
Portrait of a Scotsman: 4.5 stars (39/202 overall ranking)
I was fully prepared for this to be a five star read. I was eating the book up! It was going to be my favorite one of the series and that was shocking because I loved the first book. The male main character was everything to me. But then the last three chapters happened. It feels like the author did not know how to end the book and threw a wild ending in, hoping it would work. It did not work. If I ignore the last three chapter it was a 5 star read for me but I cannot so it must be docked.
CURRENTLY READING: Promise Me Sunshine by Cara Bastone

It’s been awhile since I’ve read a contemporary romance that I enjoyed! I’m hoping this can change the tune of that. I do immediately have questions about the male main character but I’m sure I will find out more soon.
E: EATING
Restaurant: Fort Worth Restaurants

I am craving this chicken salad croissant BADLY right now. The food did not miss in Fort Worth and the food on this trip solidified my love for an appetizer. Restaurant stops included:
Provender Hall - Right in the middle of the Stock Yards. Amazing appetizers (specifically the deviled eggs, corn bread, and fried green tomatoes) and yummy comfort food.
97 West Kitchen & Bar (Pictured) - Top tier brunch food. I will think about the bacon forever.
Cooper’s Old Time Pit Bar-B-Que - Solid BBQ and fun cafeteria vibes.
Riscky’s Steakhouse - Also located right in the middle of the Stock Yards. Decent price, yummy food, and very on theme!
P: PLAYING
Music:

ANOTHER NEW BOMBSHELL (ALBUM) HAS ENTERED THE VILLA. All of my favorite artists are insisting on releasing a new album at the exact same time. Kacey Musgraves - the woman that you are. If you aren’t into country music, Kacey Musgraves will be the woman to change your mind. Her new album is emotional but also fun. I cannot get Mexico Honey out of my head despite not knowing the lyrics to the part stuck in my head.
Song Recommendation: Mexico Honey - Kacey Musgraves
Podcasts: Binchtopia
Binchtopia brought up a fact that I have always known but never thought about. CVS is famously understaffed. I thought perhaps it was just my location but no, everyone is experiencing this. You are lucky if you even put eyes on an employee outside of the Pharmacy at that place. They are heavily relying on their loud self-checkout area.
Television: The Bear

Right after I finish the first season of this show, it is announced that the final season is coming out this summer. This show stresses me out but I love it. I relate to Sydney unlike I have related to a character in a long time! Also obsessed with Jeremy Allen White playing Lip in a different font.
Movies: The Devil Wears Prada 2

So many divas in this movie! I very much enjoyed this movie for a sequel. My expectations for a movie are incredibly different for a sequel. I simply want to enjoy it while it does not ruin the legacy of the first movie. This movie did exactly that. There were many subtle call backs to the original movie and I was entertained!
O: OBSESSED
General: Vinyl Collecting

My collection is small but mighty! I am here to report that my favorite vinyl pressings are my Kacey ones. The cardinal Deeper Well is my favorite one in my collection. I have an infinite list on my notes app of all the different ones that I want to get!
Pop Culture: Spirit Airlines

Spirit airlines, I will miss you. Cheap flights, I will miss you. This news is simply tragic. I fear for my traveling costs now. Someone save the people who yearn to travel on a budget!
R: RECOMMEND: Peach Slices Spot Dots

These were recommended to me by a friend and now I am recommending them to you. I can only speak for the Acne Spot Dots but they are a staple in my routine. I used to use Mighty Patch and I really enjoyed those but you did not get many of them for the price you paid. These ones come in multiple sizes and you get a ton for a cheaper price!
T: TREAT: Spicy Raspberry Margarita

I am not even a margarita gal, but this marg that I got in Fort Worth was perfect to me! Espresso martini’s are my favorite cocktail but I’ve been trying to find my go-to beverage when espresso is not the vibe. Anything with raspberry, will call to me! I don’t like when a drink is genuinely spicy but this one was perfectly balanced between sweet and spicy.
SAUCY TAKE OF THE WEEK: Nipples are an Accessory
Although they didn’t make the top five in rankings, nipples are indeed an accessory (for the girlies, I’m sorry boys). I want authentic nip though, not the Skims nipple bra. They just add an extra something to an outfit. Free the nip!
YAPPY HOUR: Coupled Up & Moving Differently
You know what I’m talking about - the girl who was different before being in a relationship versus after. This isn’t necessarily a negative thing, but it’s also not a positive thing. Of course there is a version of this person that is quite negative but I’m talking about the person who is just different. I mean you definitely miss the single version of them because you see them a lot less and you hear from them a lot less. When you do hear from them, they make it quite obvious as to why you are seeing them less. Perhaps because I try so hard to never change in the slightest depending on my relationship status, I always immediately clock these people. I am taking mental notes and I am noticing.
