Perhaps I am just not a weird book gal. This was indeed a weird book. I had a hard time picking up the book and wanting to continue to read the book once I got the courage to pick it up. I did appreciate the sprinkles of feminism but I had a hard time with the dog plot. I’m in desperate NEED of a good book to get me out of my reading slump.

It’s time for my other book club read. This is a dystopian book so I’m hoping that it will turn around my luck with books lately.

Restaurant: Lankford’s
There is a restaurant in the middle of my neighborhood so of course I had to go. Of course I had to order a weird burger and I was quite a fan! It had both an egg and macaroni & cheese on it. I have had those separately on a burger but not together. Guy Fieri has been there on Driver’s, Drive-In’s, and Dive’s (I’m assuming this was a Dive’s stop).
This is for the chocolate lovers! I was pretty proud of myself for this recipe because the frosting was a “trust the process” situation. But they turned out fabulous and I was a fan!

Olivia’s new single, ‘drop dead',’ has me so excited for this upcoming album. First listen, I liked it immediately but after more listens I am obsessed with it. At all times it is safe to assume that ‘drop dead’ is stuck in my head.

My girls Hannah and Paige preach about decentering men but Hannah brought up a new thing to decenter that I’m completely on board about. Decentering age. When I was in my early twenties, I thought I would care a lot more about approaching my thirties (in a negative connotation) than I currently do. I truly do not care what age I am as long as I am having fun and living my life. I’m 29 and just a wee baby.
Television: Trust Me - The False Prophet
It should come to a surprise to no one that I was tuned in to a documentary series about a Mormon cult. Here are my thoughts:
Christine was exactly who these women needed and she is a saint
Samuel (the false prophet) was the biggest LOSER. A cult leader with zero charisma who wears a fuck ass white coat. Hated every second of him on my screen
Why is a common theme of these documentaries that the local police can do nothing?

General: April Dinner Party
I didn’t get the best photos from my Classy Ass Dinner Party but best believe the gals showed up in their gorgeous gorgeous gowns! It was about time that I threw a classic dinner party (or at least as close to classic as I could get). All the courses were served and we remained sat at the dinner table to play some cute games together.
Pop Culture: Hulu Reality Shows
Hulu knows that reality t.v. is what gets the people talking so they announced many new reality shows. Most interestingly they announced a spinoff Mormon Wives set in California featuring a lot of women who at no point in their lives have been Mormon. I was immediately confused after seeing Bobbi Althoff’s name (the girl who interviewed Drake in a bed). I will probably give the show a chance but the reason I love Mormon Wives is because of the absurdity of the Mormon of it all!
R: RECOMMEND: Free the Titty (Red Carpet Edition)
I was not familiar with Lana’s game! This look means so much to me. She is letting the yitties hang. With all the boobs defying gravity on the red carpet, this is what the girls wanted to see! I hope this becomes more of a trend.
T: TREAT: Raspberry Chocolate
I simply could not pass up this pretty sweet treat when I saw it at the coffee shop portion of Bayou Heights Beir Garten. It was yummy and very tart (similar to raspberries). I felt like I didn’t know how to eat this treat in a normal manner but besides that I very much enjoyed it.
SAUCY TAKE OF THE WEEK: Skirts/Skorts
All mini skirts should be skorts. I cannot think of a reason why it wouldn’t be useful for a mini to have a short component underneath. The shorts are always small and don’t show but it gives a nice reassurance that you aren’t accidentally mooning everyone.
YAPPY HOUR: Dress Codes
I have some beef with a dress code! It’s not the beef that you might think it is. The code itself is fine (I guess) but I don’t like how the dress code is enforced. Because if you only enforce the dress code on certain body types that’s not much of a dress code babes! That’s just body shaming I fear! It also seems to be a thing that people pick and choose on who the dress code applies to. Dress codes often seem like a coverup for shady and hateful behavior.
