Dear Gentle & Saucy Yappers,
I’m never truly aware of when Easter is. Then it just sneaks up on me by gifting me a Friday off from work. And for that, I will never complain.
xoxo, Hailey Girl
RANKING OF THE WEEK: Book Boyfriends

I read romance books for the unrealistic men.
Justin from Just for the Summer - He is the blueprint and I’m not sure if anyone can dethrone him
Cade from Heartless - I am blushing just thinking about this man
Bo from Out on a Limb - A man this perfect does not exist
Daniel from Part of Your World - The theme is Abby Jimenez men
Gus from Lost and Lassoed - The other theme is cowboys
R.E.P.O.R.T.
R: READING
JUST READ: Emma: 1.5 stars (189/198 overall ranking)
At the end of the day, this book just was not for me. Perhaps I am not smart enough to truly understand old English. After every chapter I had to use Sparknotes to make sure I wasn’t missing parts of the plot. Spoiler alert: I was missing major parts of the plot. If this story was written today in a modern way, I’m sure I would have eaten this book up. Sorry Jane Austen.
CURRENTLY READING: A Rogue of One’s Own by Evie Dunmore

I am ready to binge this series! This is book two. There is just something about the collaboration of feminism and romance that gets to me. So far the trope is seeming to be enemies to lovers. I’m sat.
E: EATING
Recipe: Strawberry Cornbread

Sometimes you need to try out something weird! I don’t think I would necessarily make this again because I don’t know what occasion this goes with but I liked it.
P: PLAYING
Music:

Rihanna! The people miss you! Now I know there is a slim to none chance that she will grace the people with music again but a girl can hope. I have had the song ‘Kiss it Better’ in my head for weeks. I fear the only solution for this is for Rihanna to drop new music.
Song Recommendation: Kiss it Better - Rihanna
Podcasts: Celebrity Memoir Book Club

If you are familiar with Alexis Neiers, you probably remember her as a member of the ‘Bling Ring’ or from her famous quote, “Like you saying that I wore six-inch Louboutin heels to court with my tweed skirt, when I wore four inch little brown Bebe shoes.” I was immediately confused why she would have a memoir but it ended up being one of my favorite episodes of the podcast. Alexis Neiers has been through all the traumas. And although the clip of her crying about shoes is a tough watch, knowing the context of the situation she was in definitely helps.
Television: The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 4

I am honestly not sure if mom tok will survive this. This season is particularly tough to watch with everything that has happened afterwards because the girlies in the season have no idea what is coming. One thing I feel even the producers have to know at this point if the show goes on: Dadtok has GOT TO GO. It is on record that I have BEEN saying this, but this season is so ridiculous. They make my skin crawl and there is nothing I want to watch less.
Movies: Emma

First of all, this movie had a lot of actresses and actors that I knew! Also this movie is proof that I was down with the story of Emma because I enjoyed the movie much more than the book.
O: OBSESSED
General: March Dinner Party

The March Dinner Party’s theme was frat party (specifically the 2016-2019 era of course). It was one of my favorite parties yet. Of course the girls came dressed in frat boy attire. We played a beer pong tournament and had a hot dog bar for dinner. Now was a hot dog bar too fancy for frats? Absolutely! But any food would be. Honestly the drinks being set in ice were above and beyond in the frat world.
Pop Culture: Ciara/Amanda/West

I don’t watch Summer House but my entire FYP has been filled with this drama. I am not the most equipped to give the dirty details of this drama but basically we have a recently divorced girly dating her best friend’s ex. Ew. I would NEVER even look the way of my friend’s crush, let alone date their ex. Male-centered woman behavior.
R: RECOMMEND: Happy Journal

I found a journal so cute, I had to make up a purpose for it but I’m really loving it. This is my ‘happy journal.’ Basically it is a gratitude journal with a twist. I keep track of things that make me happy throughout the day on my notes app and then transfer it to this journal at night. I like to remember that I have so many things that make me happy every single day even when the day sucks. If you have a cute empty journal, might as well try it out!
T: TREAT: Matchbooks

My matchbook collection is small but mighty. Rest in peace to all the matchbooks I didn’t grab when I wasn’t collecting them before. Forever the most upset that I don’t have a matchbook from my own sister’s wedding! Montrose Cheese & Wine’s matchbook is the winner. The matches are wine bottles!? Shut up.
SAUCY TAKE OF THE WEEK: Male Centered Women
I have no interest in being friends with a male-centered woman. They are just not my cup of tea. The type of women who only speak about men, they will drop everything for a man, and everything they do is for men. I cannot relate and never will relate. The worst part is I cannot tell if they are more insufferable when they are single or in a relationship.
YAPPY HOUR: Matching Perfume to Outfits
It doesn’t have to make sense to you. It just has to make sense to me. I like to think that my signature scents are Vanilla/Amber because that is what I wear most often but I have plenty of other choices. Often when I’m not going to my go-to scents, I am matching the vibe of my outfit to the vibe of my perfume. If you don’t get it, I fear nothing I will say will make you understand. But if you get it, you get it!

How One Wellness Brand Is Helping America Sleep Better
You know the importance of sleep, but actually getting enough is easier said than done. One wellness brand decided to study the problem and whether CBD could help.
CBD users have long reported feeling calmer and sleeping better, whether taking the compound by itself or with related hemp-derived compounds like CBN and THC. But rumor isn’t research, so CBDistillery conducted two sleep studies: a 2021 study into CBD and CBN, and a 2023 study with technology app Releaf into CBD, CBN and THC.
Study participants who took CBD and CBN reported falling asleep easier and sleeping an hour longer per night, on average. Study participants who took THC as well as CBD and CBN reported improved quality of sleep and waking up more refreshed the next morning.
Want to experience better sleep and still wake up refreshed? Try CBDistillery’s sleep solutions for yourself and save 25% with code SLP25.
