Dear Gentle & Saucy Yappers,

Every month I either feel like “wow this month flew by” or “this month is lasting forever.” For once I feel that this month is going by at a normal pace. March 2026 may be the first month that has ever felt like a proper month. Good for them.

xoxo, Hailey Girl

RANKING OF THE WEEK: Best Food/Beverage Pairings

  1. Wine & Cheese - I mean obviously they are a dynamic duo for a reason

  2. Milk & Cookies - I don’t even want milk if a cookie is not involved

  3. Burger & Coke (Zero) - It just makes sense

  4. Sandwich & Iced Tea - particularly out at the pool or on the beach

  5. French Fries & Milkshake - I am counting a milkshake as a drink, deal with it

R: READING

JUST READ: Cash: 3.5 stars (97/197 overall ranking)

I liked it but I did not love it. Unfortunately the plotline where they hated each other was stronger than when they loved each other. Spoiler alert this is a enemies to lovers plotline. I needed a transition that made more sense between the hate and love. I do intend to read the next book in this series though! I love a cowboy romance.

CURRENTLY READING: Deep End by Ali Hazelwood

I’m not too far into this book yet but it is one I kept suspending my hold on Libby for. I figured it was time to read it! I have heard very mixed reviews for this but I am hoping mine is positive.

E: EATING

Restaurant: Houston Rodeo

I love me some fair food. Specifically a corn dog. If you are thinking “well there is not a corn dog pictured,” you would be correct. I pivoted because ‘Fat Bacon’ had a lot to offer. My friend and I both got two items each and we shared our sweet treats. My favorite was my cotton candy bacon and this is coming from someone who does not love cotton candy. The combination just makes sense. The bacon jam beignets and the Dubai chocolate funnel fries were also both delicious.

P: PLAYING

Music:

I was confused on my recap until I remembered the singular playlist I have downloaded for my flights: “zach bryan, hozier, lumineers, noah kahan esque.” It’s not even my own playlist but it is the perfect playlist to listen to while you are in and out of sleep on the plane.

Song Recommendation: Porch Light - Noah Kahan

Podcasts: Giggly Squad

This is your sign to start listening to Giggly Squad because they are getting their own Netflix show produced by Amy Pohler. I am so proud of my close and personal friends, Hannah and Paige. They will be playing fictional versions of themselves on the show. I am so excited. They are quite literally living my dream. I want to have a podcast and tv show with my best friend?

Television: Survivor Australian Outback

This season of survivor the contestants genuinely had to SURVIVE. They ran out of food and the conditions were horrible. I was thoroughly entertained. I also enjoyed the winner so overall this was a good season. Below are my rankings of the seasons I have watched so far.

  1. Pearl Islands (S7)

  2. Australian Outback (S2)

  3. Borneo (S1)

  4. Marquesas (S4)

  5. Amazon (S6)

Movies: Palm Springs

Yes, this movie came out in 2020. I don’t always bring the breaking news on this newsletter. I love a rom-com with a unique plot so I was a fan of this movie. I don’t know if I would yearn to watch it again but I’m glad I watched it!

O: OBSESSED

General: Ceramic Painting

I went to Mad Potter to do some ceramic painting. The bowl was just a normal bowl but the lady that worked there recommended I added a frog at the bottom so obviously I did that to add whimsey! I am far from the best artist but I love making something cutesy for my home!

Pop Culture: Taylor Frankie Paul

Honestly this section could have gone under my saucy takes. Yes, I have seen the video and it was a hard watch because her child was present. Now I don’t think her bachelorette season should have been canceled. This video is from an incident that started off the entire television show that gave her the platform to be the Bachelorette. Everyone was quite aware that this incident happened as she plead guilty to it, it was the first scene of episode 1 of the show, and she candidly has spoken about it on podcasts. Also, I’m sure Dakota and Jordan had a date at TMZ where Dakota sold that video and Jordan rushed to break the news that he filed for divorce. These men are LOSERS.

R: RECOMMEND: Picnic and Craft

You know I love a picnic. You know I love a craft. I’m not sure why this is the first time that I’ve done both at the same time. Coloring with my gals while snacking on a lunchable and getting some sun? 10/10 experience that I would highly recommend.

T: TREAT: Wine and Treats

Consider me a new fan of Montrose Cheese and Wine. Their happy hour was top tier. The entire menu was 50% off. And then when happy hour ended, there was a free wine tasting happening. An afternoon full of treats. Additional treats that are not pictured: An oatmeal cream pie, a chocolate chip cookie, and the cutest matchbook.

SAUCY TAKE OF THE WEEK: Tea Podcasts

I don’t believe either of the podcasts I have in mind are actually “tea” podcasts but I refer to them as that because they often have controversial guests or guests in the headlines. I’m talking about Alex Cooper and Nick Viall. Now I feel very differently about the two of them as individuals but I feel similarly about their podcasts. I am not tuning in. Yes they have good guests, but at what cost? They are fluff pieces. When the guest is controversial, there won’t actually be any controversial content in those podcast episodes. Jessi was recently on Call Her Daddy and I liked the clips that I saw but that had nothing to do with the interview questions and everything to do with liking Jessi. While I’m at it: Nick Viall is a loser and all the content I get of him is against my will.

YAPPY HOUR: Ryan Reynolds

Ryan Reynolds is man hot. What does that mean. Men find him hot. Please speak up if you don’t agree with this, but I don’t know any women who are thirsting over Ryan Reynolds. Meanwhile the mere mention of Ryan Reynolds will make most men salivate.
