Dear Gentle & Saucy Yappers,
Winter birthday girls are the strongest soldiers. But I want to note that this is the second year in a row a winter storm has arrived on my birthday and that feels personal. A winter storm or some cold cannot stop me because I hate ICE.

RANKING OF THE WEEK: Romance Book Tropes

Fake Dating - there is something about the slow yet inevitable switch from fake to real that gets me’ every time
Enemies to Lovers - similar to my reasoning for the first trope
Opposites Attract - ya I love the grumpy man who is no longer grumpy for her!
Forced Proximity - it’s good because it works
Friends to Lovers - this is not always my favorite but when it’s done well I love!

R: READING
JUST READ: In the Dream House: 2.5 stars
I fear I wanted to escape the dream house almost immediately after starting this book. I’m sure this is a great book to those who are into poetry/essay style of writing. I am not. Therefore I was hooked listening to this zero percent of this read. I think that was another issue for me, I listened to this. I always hear memoirs are the perfect books to listen to because it is the author telling you their own story but I would recommend this audiobook to NO ONE and recommend this memoir to people who enjoy creative styles of writing. I saw the potential but it was not for me.
CURRENTLY READING: Heart the Lover by Lily King

I have heard by many that this book is a tear jerker. I don’t know why that would be surprising considering there is quite literally a crying face as the cover. I’m ready for an emotional rollercoaster!
E: EATING
Restaurant: Pink’s Pizza

I loveeeee me some Domino’s but I like a non-chain pizza from time to time. I got pepperoni and buffalo pizza. I liked the buffalo pizza but was slightly disappointed because I wanted it to be more … Buffalo? If you have a Buffalo Pizza recommendation in Houston, hit me up! Still, this is my go-to pizza place if I’m feeling fancy and will continue to be so!
Recipe: Banana Pudding

I’m not sure why but I feel much more pressure baking than cooking. Luckily this was a hit and perhaps will be a go-to dessert recipe from now on! Paula Deen will not fail you with this recipe.
P: PLAYING
Music:

This recap features a man I love with great music and a man I don’t love but who has great music. It also features a man who stands up to ticket master and man who does not. I really wish the man I loved was the one who stood up to ticketmaster but perhaps that can be a battle for another day. EITHER WAY, I love Harry’s new single. He may have made that song specifically for me. I am calling it right now, that is my top song for 2026.
Song Recommendation: Aperture by Harry Styles
Podcasts: Broski Report
Britney brought up something so true on the Broski report which was that men do not move out of the way for women when walking. I had a That’s So Raven moment when listening. My 2026 goal is to keep that energy up for them and stay shoulder checking men. I have done enough moving out of the way to last me a last time. The next battle I will have to face is not apologizing for it after but one battle at a time.
Television: Tell Me Lies/Traitors/Jersey Shore

Here are my quick rapid-fire style thoughts on the shows I have watched/re-watched this week.
Jersey Shore: Snooki is my SHAYLA. I am remembering how INSUFFERABLE Mike was before his sober transformation. All of the guys are horrible but Ronnie is scary.
Traitors: What episode does Colton die in?
Tell Me Lies: What episode does Stephan die in?
Movies: Primate

I saw this movie against my will and went into it blindly. That being said… I would not recommend this movie. It is simply about a monkey with rabies killing his human family in a gory manner. It did feature a Charli XCX song? Don’t ask.
O: OBSESSED
General: January Dinner Party

Sometimes the dinner party is less a dinner party and more a sleepover- styled game night! The theme was indeed Sleepy Girl Game Night so it fit! The attire was pajamas and the activity was board games! The ice-breaker was: “What game show would you do the best on?”
Pop Culture: Toxic Mom Group

This is drama that has been going on for awhile that never seems to end! Basically there was a celebrity mom group featuring these ladies. Ashley Tisdale wrote an article for The Cut titled “Breaking Up With My Toxic Mom Group.” Somehow, someway Ashley’s husband and Hillary’s husband got involved. If I had to make a guess, I’m probably not on Ashley’s side but also I would not want to be a part of a mom group so there is that!
R: RECOMMEND: Maybelline Lifter Liner

Not sponsored, just a casual fan! I may need this liner in every color. I feel like she has magic powers and makes my lips look they had some work done (positive connotation).
T: TREAT: Rot Day

A winter storm is the perfect excuse for a rot day but honestly I could regularly treat myself to these and be happy. What’s better than a rot day? A rot day with friends? Monopoly controversies occurred and multiple seasons of Jersey Shore were consumed.
SAUCY TAKE OF THE WEEK: Hairspray
This is a simple saucy take that I fully believe. Hairspray smells good. Yes, it might make you have difficulty breathing if you smell too much at once, but you can’t have too much of a good thing! Maybe it is the childhood dancer in me but I love the smell of hairspray.
YAPPY HOUR: Time Blindness
What is the opposite of time blindness? Where you are physically incapable of being late? Because I think I have that. Of course I have been late before but for circumstances out of my control or I was trying to be late. When I try to be late, I just end up on time. In my head, I plan for a minimum of nine disasters that could occur and still leave me time to spare.

This has to be the last misspelling for awhile because I cannot take it. I would almost think was a purposeful joke but I was assured this profile did not give humorous vibes.
