Dear Gentle & Saucy Yappers,
This new year is off to a wild start. There is so much CONTENT to consume. I have a queue of shows, a queue of movies, and pop culture is booming. Luckily I can report my thoughts on all of this content to the Yappers because I have some stuff to say!
xoxo, Hailey Girl
RANKING OF THE WEEK: Things I Don’t Understand How They Work (and don’t care to know)

Bluetooth - vibes through the air I guess?
Vinyl Records/CD’s - makes even less sense after I’ve seen how they were made
Bitcoin - I couldn’t care less
Calculators - but thank goodness they exist
Televisions - Clearly the overall concept of electronics fascinates me as if I’m a time traveling Victorian-era child

R: READING
JUST READ: What She Saw: 2 stars (172/186 overall ranking)
I’m still not sure what she saw. This book was boring. I loved the concept but hated the execution. The ending was the best part of the book. If only there was a better lead up to it.
The Last Secret of Lily Adams: 4.5 stars (38/186 overall ranking)
I was surprised by this book. I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did! I was invested in both the old hollywood and current day plotline. What can I say? I’m a sucker for a book with great female representation.
CURRENTLY READING: How to End a Love Story by Yulin Kuang

My first romance read in awhile (if we don’t count all the Holiday books I read because Holiday Romance is a different type of romance). Off the bat I am curious how these two will become an item because their connection has quite a shaky foundation.
E: EATING
Restaurant: Tacos

I fear I do not know what this taco restaurant was called. I was too in the moment with my food. My phone did not eat first because I needed to dive in to the baked potato. Still thinking about that potato to be honest.
P: PLAYING
Music:

Pay attention to the DIVA’s in my last week’s music recap because I’m about to separate the art from the artist. Zach Bryan dropped his new album, “With Heaven on Top.” Despite loving his music, I wasn’t looking forward to listening because of him as a person. But I was on a road trip and it seemed like the perfect time to listen. And wow. ONE listen through and this might be my favorite album of his. It is really really good. What can I say, that man can sing and write a song.
Song Recommendation: Plastic Cigarette - Zach Bryan
Podcasts: Giggly Squad

To finish this iconic quote from Giggly Squad, “I don’t align with you. I have nothing in common with you.” I was wildly surprised that after Tom Brady and Alix Earle were spotted speaking closely at a New Year’s party that the internet decided to hate on Alix. MY BAD for thinking we were past that type of misogyny. Let’s just let people live.
Television: Traitors

The Traitors is back! GET MICHAEL AND COLTON OFF MY SCREEN. Colton is really going for that Dylan Efron edit and let me tell you… absolutely not. I have not forgotten that you are a creep who stalked your ex-girlfriend. Besides those two, I’m a fan of the cast. I’m rooting for the Traitors to win this season though. Last year I was team faithfuls but I have flipped for season 4!
Movies: People We Meet on Vacation

Tom Blythe. The man that you are. Alex is one of my favorite book boyfriends and Tom did a fabulous job at playing him. Now this movie took A LOT of creative liberties. The book was pretty different. I know this book is the least favorite Emily Henry book for many but I LOVE IT. I also was a big fan of the movie but I will have the classic take of: the book was better.
O: OBSESSED
General: Casual Hangs
This is coming from the same gal who hosts a monthly themed dinner party. I love an elaborate and planned moment with the girls. I also support casual hangs. Once you get older (ew), a lot of friendship hangouts are big plans but casual hangs can be just as fun. For the Tell Me Lies season 3 premiere, myself and the girlies watched the show with some pizza. It was fabulous and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way!
Pop Culture: Harry Styles

STAY CALM. HARRY STYLES IS COMING BACK. He has these cryptic posters up around the world and his website prompts you to enter in all of your personal information. Against everything I have ever learned about cyber security, I gave all of my information to Harry. I trust that man with my life. Wow, I have missed this man.
R: RECOMMEND: Spearmint Capsules

In full transparency, I have been struggling with cystic acne. Despite my fabulous skin care routine, those fuckers were not going away. I might be gaslighting myself but I recently started taking Spearmint capsules and I swear I saw an immediate improvement. If you want to try them, I got these ones but there are plenty of options and this is #not #sponsored.
T: TREAT: Hair Cut

I just needed to treat myself to a haircut to feel cute! I usually get a haircut and color in one go but this time I separated it into two appointments. I left feeling like I got my hair colored because my hair feels so refreshed and healthy. I also might have found my new hair stylist in Houston because he took my inspiration picture and perfected it.
SAUCY TAKE OF THE WEEK: 2016 Instagram Trend
I usually am not a fan of a social media trends via instagram. They just are always cringey to me but my saucy take is that I’m obsessed with the current 2016 trend. I’m not sure why everyone collectively decided to post their pictures now but the nostalgia is hitting me in the feels. Bring back chokers!
SAUCY STORY TIME (YAPPER WRITE-INS):
I recently took a trip to NYC! A young gal in the big apple. And let me tell you, life in the big city is not for the faint of heart. My mom, sister and I were strolling down Canal Street looking for a faux Louis V (a fauxie V, if you will). Suddenly, the bag men start quickly wrapping up their wares. This could only mean one thing- The po po. NYPD has arrived. We step aside to the street corner as we hear the sirens. Then, in front of us, a man with a handful of purses and knockoff Apple headphones tries to juke out a cop. He trips and gets tackled to the ground. Fauxie Vs go flying. He gets put in the back of the cop car. Safe to say nothing that interesting ever happens in Houston, at least in my neighborhood. #takemeback #freepurseguy
