Dear Gentle & Saucy Yappers,
Happy New Year! I don’t want to ruin anyone’s day but I recently saw a TikTok that Troy and Gabriella met at a NYE party 20 years ago. Do what you need to do with that information. Although I recently gave the saucy take that New Year’s Eve is my least favorite major holiday, I do love the nostalgia that the end of the year brings!

RANKING OF THE WEEK: Movie Theater Bites

Popcorn - DUH, honestly movie theaters gave popcorn the platform that it deserves
Hot Dog - This is a new one for me, but it hits I PROMISE
Reese’s Pieces - THE movie theater candy
Icee - I’m particular to the blue raspberry flavor
Milk Duds - These paired with popcorn, an elite combo

R: READING
JUST READ: Make the Season Bright: 2.5 stars (156/182 overall ranking)
This book was the miscommunication trope on steroids. Because what do you MEAN the inability to properly communicate led to leaving her at the altar!? This was not the worst thing I have read but I was not rooting for the couple which puts a damper on a romance book. Charlotte deserves better than Brighton.
CURRENTLY READING: Everyone in This Room Will Someday Be Dead by Emily Austin

Another book where I am pulled in by the cover! In 2026 I want to read more books that make me FEEL things because those books always end up being my 5 star reads. Hopefully this book about an anxious main character makes me feel all the feels. It’s important to start off the year not in a reading slump!
E: EATING
Restaurant: Melting Pot

Multiple courses of fondue? SIGN ME UP. It’s been a hot second since I’ve been to the Melting Pot but I always have a good time here. It’s pretty difficult to be sad while surrounded by melted cheese and chocolate.

Music:

This is the song recap of a gal who just spent the last week with her younger sisters. As the new year approaches I’m sure some of you, like myself, are stressing about what song to choose for your 2025 recap. It’s a time where I realize most songs are about love or heartbreak. I need the non-love related songs asap.
Song Recommendation: Perfect Places - Lorde
Podcasts: Giggly Squad
If you were worried that I didn’t give you enough Giggly Squad content, fret not! In 2026 Hannah and Paige are gifting us 2 episodes per week. Thank goodness I caught up with the podcast this year. I feel like a proud friend seeing Hannah and Paige continue to succeed. This is your sign to listen to Giggly Squad.
Television: Stranger Things, Season 5, Volume 2

By the time you receive this newsletter, the finale will be out but I am writing this before we know the fate of this show that I love so much. I just hope they end the show well and I have no idea what the ending will be. I’m sure people will hate the ending regardless. Especially after seeing the reactions to Volume 2. Were they my favorite episodes? No. But also they were far from bad so I’m confused about the dramatics. Special shoutout to Steve Harrington in a backwards hat!
Movies: Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery

I enjoyed this movie! It was quite long but much better than the second Knives Out movie. I did not predict the end but I would guess not many did. I will continue to watch these movies as long as they put them out because I love a little whodunit mystery.
O: OBSESSED
General: Mini Golf

I love a mini golf moment. I especially love a mini golf course that is extra and whimsical. I’m typically horrible at mini golf but my most recent trip to Putt Shack, I actually did decently. I think it was the power of my Shirley Temple that I was sipping.
Pop Culture: Rockin’ New Year’s Eve

This year Rita Ora and Chance the Rapper are co-hosting New Year’s Rockin’ Eve but I’m yearning for the year that Snooki was in the ball drop. We as a society would be healed from a Snooki Ball Drop.
R: RECOMMEND: Purse Rack

I was born a girl who loves bags, I’m honestly surprised it has taken me this long to display them. Since I don’t live in a state where I need to hang my coats, a purse rack was the next rational step. The one I bought was not expensive and quite easy to put together.
T: TREAT: Nothing Bundt Cake

I am a ‘Nothing Bundt Cake’ truther. This opinion is especially important because I don’t love cake. But I love this cake. The best flavor is of course White Chocolate Raspberry. If you disagree you’re wrong but I understand because they do not have a bad flavor at this establishment.
SAUCY TAKE OF THE WEEK: Complaining
Everyone complains from time to time. But the worst kind of complaining is when someone complains about something that is completely in their control. I’m not talking about work or workouts. But when people find a way to complain about things that should be positive and fun. Such as “ugh I just don’t have time for my trip to Bali next week.” That kind of complaining is unforgivable in my opinion.
YAPPY HOUR: Unnecessary Gadgets
Unnecessary gadgets make me irrationally angry. They typically come across my desk via instagram ads or Tik Tok shop. It all started when I saw a “must need” kitchen gadget which was a piece of plastic meant for wiping up crumbs. I just truly hope no one is buying these things. No one needs that. A paper towel or quite literally anything with an edge would work in place of that.
