RANKING OF THE WEEK: Christmas Universes I’d Like to Visit

  1. Whoville - Holding hands and singing around the Christmas tree would heal me

  2. Polar Express - I would love to pull up to the North Pole in a train

  3. Santa Clause - Their North Pole seems to be top tier

  4. Charlie Brown Christmas - I’m willing to go to the Charlie Brown universe during all seasons to be honest

  5. Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas - I just trust that a Disney cartoon during Christmas would be a fun place to visit

R: READING

JUST READ: Merry Christmas, You Filthy Animal: 3.5 stars (94/179 overall ranking)

Dare I say, there was too much smut. I started skimming because it started to really amp up the already long page count. On the positive side, this book was just as silly and goofy as the first one. I found myself laughing several times. It helped put me in the holiday spirit!

CURRENTLY READING: Fractured by Karin Slaughter

Yes, my reading vibe for December includes both Christmas and crime thrillers! A girl who can do both! My last Karin Slaughter read was far from a fave so I need to get her back in my good graces with this read!

E: EATING

Restaurant: Mercato and Company

Pinterest is SHAKING because yes my digital camera took this picture. I can confirm that the Limoncello and charcuterie board at Mercato were everything I needed for a girl dinner.

I found your next simple appetizer to bring to a holiday (or any) event! These were so quick and easy but also so yummy. The most difficult step in the directions is cutting the Brie to give you an idea of how simple this recipe is.

P: PLAYING

Music:

Are we as a society ready to admit that Justin Bieber’s ‘Under the Mistletoe’ is the best Christmas album? Some of the songs might start as ironic listens but they quickly become holiday staples. Mistletoe!? Pray!? Drummer Boy!? This album goes triple platinum in my household in December.

Song Recommendation: Pray - Justin Bieber

Podcasts: Girls Gotta Eat

Girls Gotta Eat had guests on their podcast who were married women with children. They spoke about when they found their husbands they were not looking for a best friend because they already had each other as a best friend. My jaw dropped because TEAAAAAAA. It brought me a sense of comfort that I never will have to pretend that a man is my best friend over the women who have been there for me through it all.

Television: Sean Combs: The Reckoning

Forgive me for not knowing that this man has been evil since day 1. I simply was not up to date on the Diddy lore but I will blame that on my age. There was a lot of information packed into these four episodes. I learned so much but also was left with many questions. If you know nothing about Diddy’s story this will blow your mind but if you are already up to date and want new information, I’m not sure if this series will impress you.

O: OBSESSED

General: December Dinner Party

Another month with a successful dinner party! The theme was Christmas Olympics. Although it was still a dinner party, the dinner was more of a girl dinner filled with appetizers and the focus was more on the games! The attire was red/green, the ice-breaker was “What Christmas Character are you betting on to win the Olympics? (my answer was Buddy the Elf of course),” and the activity were the games and treat exchange.

Pop Culture: Actors on Actors

I love the concept of Actors on Actors. I want to see two people chit chatting who might not otherwise chit chat! While I did not see the entirety of Jennifer and Leonardo’s interview, I saw what I needed to see. Jennifer was charming and hilarious. Leonardo was there!

R: RECOMMEND: Hibachi Night

This was my first time experiencing a Hibachi night in a backyard and I highly recommend because I want everyone to experience this. The food was delicious of course and the vibes were so much fun. There was zero shortage of Saki.

T: TREAT: Favorite Things Gift Exchange

We had a $15 price limit and I’m obsessed with everything that I got! I gifted the travel size of my Byoma Milky toner of course! It’s so exciting to be gifted things that your friends love for themselves.

SAUCY TAKE OF THE WEEK: Posting Unappetizing Food

Now with this saucy take I wish I could just mind my own business but I cannot. When I am scrolling through instagram stories and someone posts food that looks unappetizing it makes me irrationally angry. I’m not even saying food that I don’t like! I don’t like seafood but I can see that it looks good! I’m talking about when someone posts the most basic house salad featuring one tomato, droopy lettuce, and no dressing. I’m sorry, am I supposed to be impressed by that? Am I supposed to want that?

YAPPY HOUR: Uptight Dog Owners

As a dog owner myself, I feel I have the right to say that uptight dog owners are the worst. What do I mean by an uptight dog owner? The kind of dog owner that believes their dog is above all, can do no wrong, and the only dog on earth. I recently encountered a dog owner that seemed to be fearing for her and her dog’s life because my dog was… standing and doing nothing? Although my dog is large, she will not eat humans or tiny dogs. I promise you that.

Meet the Best Alcohol Replacement of the Season

As the nights get colder and holiday gatherings fill the calendar, I’ve been craving a new kind of ritual—something warm, social, and feel-good, without the fogginess that often follows a drink. And this season, I found it.

Meet Vesper, Pique’s brand-new, non-alcoholic adaptogenic aperitif—and truly one of the most exciting launches they’ve ever released. Crafted with rare botanicals and science-backed ingredients, it delivers everything I love about a drink: the unwind, the mood lift, the sense of connection… just without the alcohol.

Each sip brings a soft drop in the shoulders, a gentle lift in spirit, and a clear, grounded presence. Sparkling, tart, and herbaceous, Vesper feels luxurious and intentionally crafted—perfect for holiday parties, cozy nights in, and an elevated start to Dry January.

Because it’s new (and already going viral), it will sell out fast.

Your annual insurance check, now headache-free

When did you last review your insurance rates? Life changes, driving records improve, and insurers update pricing constantly. You might be missing big savings by not checking. Use EverQuote as your yearly insurance reset—compare trusted carriers quickly, confirm your coverage, and ensure you’re getting the best price with zero hassle.

Get home insurance that protects what you need

Standard home insurance doesn’t cover everything—floods, earthquakes, or coverage for valuable items like jewelry and art often require separate policies or endorsements. Switching over to a more customizable policy ensures you’re paying for what you really need. Use Money’s home insurance tool to find the right coverage for you.
