Doing Research
Dear Gentle & Saucy Yappers,
I can’t talk because I’m conducting very important, some may say ground-breaking, research. More information will come to the yappers but just know it is being done for the bit.
xoxo, Hailey Girl
RANKING OF THE WEEK: Underrated Apps
|
R.E.P.O.R.T.
R: READING
JUST READ: The Winter Garden: 3 stars (92/169 overall ranking)
This was not my favorite by Kristin Hannah. She is a great writer but the slow burn did not pay off for me in this one. The end was also a bit ridiculous for my taste.
The Invited: 3.5 stars (134/169 overall ranking)
My least favorite horror trope is a man not believing his wife when things are supernatural. It’s not my least favorite because I don’t like to read it but it’s my least favorite because it makes me sad! Believe women! This book was interesting and I liked it but it didn’t WOW me.
Favorite Quote: “People fear anything different, anything they don’t understand.”
CURRENTLY READING: 1984 by George Orwell
![]() | The theme for book club this month is banned books! We are trying a new format for the month where we all read different books that fit the theme and then we will present the book to each other. I’ve never been so excited for a book report! |
E: EATING
Restaurant: Plume
![]() | I did not consume any food at Plume but it should be noted that they had a date night special of 2 pastas & 1 bottle of wine for $50. My drink was a holiday drink that was cute and QUITE strong. Plume was decorated for Christmas. I will be returning. |
Recipe: Friendsgiving Sides
![]() | I made three new sides for friendsgiving! I personally was a fan of all three sides. My contributions are not pictured here but they were amongst these beauties. The recipes are linked below! |
P: PLAYING
Music:
![]() | I am indeed in my confident and upbeat music mood. This includes my girl Raye. I have been blasting both Escapism and WHERE IS MY HUSBAND! without realizing she is the mastermind behind both of those bops. Song Recommendation: WHERE IS MY HUSBAND! - Raye |
Podcasts: Giggly Squad
![]() | I hate to report it but advertising works. I was influenced by Giggly Squad. They always mention the Dunkin refreshers that they are drinking. Fast forward to me passing a Dunkin. I start thinking about Paige and Hannah and then I find myself in the drive through. The refresher was good but I would try a different base other than lemonade because I’m not the biggest lemonade fan. |
Television: The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives
![]() | I hate to tell you that my full season review will need to wait until next week. Season 3 is OUT and I was not prepared. Usually I am ready to binge the entire season but that was not in the cards for me this week. I have seen some spoilers but I’m ok with that because I know a singular clip will not fully capture the juiciness of this show. |
O: OBSESSED
General: November Dinner Party
![]() | November’s dinner party was a Western Friendsgiving. Everyone went full out and contributed top tier food. I mean I had a friend bring a roast chicken!? The attire was of course western wear. The ice breaker was: what rodeo event would you do the best at as a Cowgirl & why? Last but not least, the activity was the photo booth. |
Pop Culture: Wicked Premier
![]() | Wicked is no longer merely a broadway musical or movie. It is a cultural phenomenon. I do wonder how Ariana and Cynthia will act once this press tour is over. What persona will Ariana be next? The movie is out this weekend and I will be seeing it. I am EXCITED! |
R: RECOMMEND: DIY Photobooth
![]() | I’m obsessed with this website. I bought western photo booth props off of Amazon and used that website on iPad to make a DIY photo booth. My last dinner party is not the last that website will see from me. |
T: TREAT: Donating Books
![]() | It is the season of giving! I went to an event where the girls were asked to donate a book from your tween/teen years. I realized that I read a lot of books that were quite dark in my youth. Twilight might be one of the more innocent reads of my young adult years. I was so excited to donate the ancient texts to someone. I wonder if they will be team Edward or Jacob? |
SAUCY TAKE OF THE WEEK: Up-Selling
I feel like when you are being up-sold at an establishment they should be required to notify you. Because by the time I see that the thing you suggested was extra money I feel DUPED and not going to ask you to remove it. I thought the person selling to me was my close and personal friend but apparently not. It is the ultimate betrayal.
SAUCY STORY TIME (YAPPER WRITE-INS):
The marshmallow results are in! I’m happy to report that 1 and 2 did not receive any votes (aka the raw marshmallows). The winner with 50% of the votes was 4. It should be noted that 12% of you like burnt marshmallows. I respect you but I also fear you.

Your annual insurance check, now headache-free
When did you last review your insurance rates? Life changes, driving records improve, and insurers update pricing constantly. You might be missing big savings by not checking. Use EverQuote as your yearly insurance reset—compare trusted carriers quickly, confirm your coverage, and ensure you’re getting the best price with zero hassle.
If you have moved, you could save on car insurance
Did you move recently? Car insurance rules vary widely from state to state. Minimum liability requirements in one state may be far below what’s required in another. A best practice is to compare coverage limits and shop around for quotes whenever you move, rather than just updating your old policy. Check out Money’s car insurance tool to review coverage in your new place and see if you could save.
