World Traveler

Dear Gentle & Saucy Yappers,

I was not meant for a boring life! Is it exhausting to be gone three weekends in a row? Well, yes! Would I do it again? Absolutely. Even while I am away, Yapple continues to stay (I did indeed rhyme on purpose).

xoxo, Hailey Girl

R: READING

JUST READ: The Love Hypothesis: 4 stars (72/160 overall ranking)

I don’t have a ton to say about this book and that is why it is a 4 star read over a 5 star read. Did you know this book was originally a Star Wars fanfiction? I did indeed like the male main character much more than the female main character. The female main character felt immature for her age. Also.. the smut was a tad weird.

Favorite Quote: “I am going to take care of this,” he told her. There was something determined, earnest in his eyes. Olive had never felt safer, or more loved. “And then I’ll come find you, and I’ll take care of you.”

Sunlight: 3 stars (123/160 overall ranking)

This was not horrible but it did not hit like the first book from the series. I did not dislike either of the main characters but I also felt zero chemistry between them. I feel as if they just “fell in love” because an accidental pregnancy occurred. Truly more of a book about navigating a pregnancy that is unexpected over a romance.

CURRENTLY READING: Gray After Dark by Noelle W. Ihli & Night Road by Kristin Hannah

Gray After Dark is my Kindle read and Night Road is my Audible listen. We are nearing mid-October and my reads were not spooky themed. I love a romance book but it was time for a shift. I have read two other books by Noelle. One I loved and one was meh so I’m curious how I will feel about this read! Night Road is not a spooky book but since it is written by Kristin Hannah, I’m sure it will be spooky how much I cry while listening to this book.

E: EATING

Restaurant: Heights & Co

You are lying if you say this s’mores board is not outrageously cute. I don’t mess with candy corn but I respect the aesthetic that it brought to the table. I love cute stuff. I love food. I love a theme. So sign me UP for cute, themed food!

P: PLAYING

Music:

My first time at Austin City Limits was a success. I saw: Hozier, Nicky Youre, Role Model, Sydney Rose, Olivia Dean, Marina, Doechii, Sabrina Carpenter, Disco Lines, T-Pain, and John Summit. It feels like cheating if I say Hozier was my favorite performance (he was) because he is my favorite overall. No shocker to anyone but I loved Olivia Dean and Doechii’s set was so fun! Although I don’t listen to Sabrina Carpenter, she puts on an amazing show. She did get major pit stains in her cute fit and that made her seem much more human/relatable.

Song Recommendation: Denial is a River - Doechii

Podcasts: Connor Wood & Sally

My parasocial self didn’t really think that Connor and Brooke would end up together but that didn’t stop me from YEARNING for it. It seems that Connor and Sally have been confirmed & I need to move on from wanting my friends to lovers trope to come true. As long as BNC continues, I am happy!

Movies: Ghostbusters

Sometimes it is necessary to go back and watch the classics again because I realized I had no recollection of the plot of this movie aside from the obvious ghost catching. Let me tell you… more movies NEED theme songs. Like the Ghostbusters song has no business being so catchy! This movie is so silly goofy but I was wondering if this movie was considered scary when it first came out. I feel like they tried but the CGI was so 80’s that it is far from scary now.

O: OBSESSED

General: Sparkle Tattoos

She was a fairy! I will be finding an excuse to sparkle my tattoos whenever I can. A music festival was the perfect excuse to try this out. I used ColourPop’s Glitterly Obsessed Body Glitter Gel in the shade Disco Lady. Making my tattoos sparkly only made me even more obsessed with them!

Pop Culture: Bad Bunny Superbowl

Bad Bunny is the Super Bowl halftime performer! I don’t really listen to his music but I know the hits! I can only assume he will put on one hell of a show and for obvious reasons I will be OVERLY supportive of his performance.

R: RECOMMEND: Camcorders

If you are like me, you are a gal who loves to document all of the memories! I recently purchased a camcorder and I would highly recommend. It wasn’t expensive and camcorder videos have a whimsy that the iPhone can never recreate.

T: TREAT: Boo Basket

I was gifted the cutest “boo basket.” I am obsessed with every single aspect of this gift! It also reminded me of my love for Snickers bars. Girlies who give random gifts need to be protected at all costs! It really is the thought that counts.

SAUCY TAKE OF THE WEEK: Slow Aggressive Drivers

Slow aggressive drivers are a rare breed but they do exist. They NEED to get in front of you but then they stick around. At least the usual aggressive driver zooms away and you quickly forget about them. But the slow aggressive drivers linger. They might be worse because you are stuck behind them and annoyed.

SAUCY STORY TIME (YAPPER WRITE-INS):

Queen Hailey has asked me to submit this story previously and tbh I blame my recently diagnosed ADHD for not doing it sooner! So the story starts back in May when a Tik Toker named Jaz (@justjazzzyidk) was getting married. Her wedding was iconic and I was locked tf in for all of the content she was posting. One thing she shared was that she paid an Etsy witch to have great weather on her wedding day and it worked! She shared the link of the witch's store front so I saved it on my Etsy for a rainy day (pun intended). Fast forward to August when I was about to leave for the bach trip I planned as MOH for my bestie girl Bailey. I checked the weather a few days prior and it said rain, rain, rain every single day. All around this was bad, but it specifically said LOTS of rain for Sunday which was when we were going on the boat. As MOH, I simply could not have this. "I can't control the weather, but NaturalisticBlessing might" I thought. So, I paid this lovely witch $16.44 (tax included) and asked her to make the weather in Charleston be sunny and gorg. I explained everyday would be great, but Sunday was the most important to have sunshine and clear skies. We leave for the trip and Friday... no rain. Wake up Saturday to rain, but by the time we got out of brunch... no rain and the weather was cool because of the morning rain. Sunday..... I wake up...... to what one could only describe as the most beautiful weather. Sunny, not too hot, and a slight breeze every so often. It was then that I confessed to Bailey and the group what I had done. Did the girls laugh? Sure, but I knew my diva had done this. Once we got on the boat, I introduced myself to the captain..... to which he replied, "Hi! It's nice to meet you, I'm Sunshine!" I pulled my sunnies off and looked at him. "Your name is SUNSHINE???" He explained it was a nickname he had been given when he was younger and has just gone by it ever since. I turned to look at the group and said "so incase anyone thought this was bullshit, NaturalisticBlessing wanted to remind y'all how powerful she really is." Needless to say, I will be using her services again with no regrets. Well, maybe some regret because had we gotten rained out I might not have sprained my foot, but anything for Bailey! Big ups to NaturalisticBlessing on Etsy, here is her link incase you need it https://www.etsy.com/shop/NaturalisticBlessing
