Keep on yapping!

Dear Gentle & Saucy Yappers,

In the past week, two men have told me in their own special way to not talk. That truly goes against the yapper lifestyle. If anyone was worried, I absolutely will not stop talking. I will just stop talking to those particular men.

xoxo, Hailey Girl

RANKING OF THE WEEK: Best Early 2000’s Childhood Bedroom Themes

  1. Pink and Zebra - truly no debate for the number 1 spot

  2. Aqua Blue and Lime Green - I dabbled in this bedroom theme

  3. Brown and Teal - I never had this color scheme but it is iconic. I feel these girlies turned into modern day girl bosses

  4. Purple/Green/Blue - the ultimate color combo

  5. Patchwork - it was the moment

R: READING

JUST READ: Book The Silent Bride: 3.5 stars 79/148 overall ranking)

I was hooked for this entire book trying to figure out what on earth was going on. It was difficult to support the female main character’s decision making. That was not her strength. The end got a bit crazy for me but overall I enjoyed the book!

CURRENTLY READING: The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie

This is my first Agatha Christie read and as a lover of mysteries, it is about time I read one! I have heard the name of this book several time and it is known for it’s wild ending. This book was also listed on the list ‘1001 books to read before you die.’ I’m not sure how many books on that list I have read but after this read, I can for sure say one! So far, so good even though the book was published in 1926.

E: EATING

Restaurant: Chicken Salad Chick

I found myself on Chicken Salad Chick Tik Tok so I then found myself at Chicken Salad Chick. It truly is an underrated place. As a gal who loves chicken salad and sandwiches in general, I support all sandwich establishments. My only qualm is that they have so many flavors and I never want to stray from my favorite (the Fancy Nancy: chicken salad with apples, grapes, and pecans). I suggest a sample with each purchase.

P: PLAYING

Music:

Clearly I have found myself in a nostalgic mood. I recently found out Halsey’s Badlands album is turning 10 years old this year. My tumblr girl heart is in shock. I distinctly remember going to that concert at House of Blues Orlando and that album speaking so deeply to my 18 year old self. “You were red and you liked me ‘cause I was blue” blew my god damn mind.

Song Recommendation: Colors - Halsey

Podcasts: Binchtopia

Last week on Binchtopia I learned that Spotify and Netflix (and probably all the streaming services) have statistics on how much they can influence each individual person. For example, on Spotify - are you selecting your own music to listen to or are you listening to their playlists and radio stations. On Netflix - do you binge the new shows that come out and are likely to binge the next one that comes out. I don’t want to be a cog in their machine but if I had to guess I probably fall in the middle of their influential people statistics. I do love my Spotify daylists.

Television: Fit for TV

If you watched The Biggest Loser, this docuseries is a must watch. Even if you didn’t watch it, it is still very interesting. Honestly I cried several times while watching this. It’s not shocking information that the show did not care about making these individuals healthier; they cared about shocking t.v. It is crazy to me how many of the people who were part of the problem on The Biggest Loser took zero accountability for their part in this show. The only person who cared about the contestants was the doctor!

Movies: Freakier Friday

It was a classic reboot sequel where they give you the same plot in a different font. But even though it was giving that reboot formula, I did still enjoy myself watching the movie! They truly got all of the O.G. people from the first movie. This movie went well with my nostalgic mood.

Rating: 7/10

O: OBSESSED

General: Power Point Night

I have always wanted to participate in a powerpoint night and I have no idea why I have waited this long. We did a summer recap powerpoint night and I am waiting for the next one already. I feel like I need to make these nights a regularly scheduled activity with my friends.

Pop Culture: Sean Kingston in Jail

To be so honest I already thought Sean Kingston was in jail. This news was shocking to me because I was under the impression that he was already off at jail. He is there for a fraud scheme. If I was Seany I would simply drop another song with Justin Bieber instead of getting involved in a fraud scheme. But that’s just me personally!

R: RECOMMEND: Throw a Party

Before you immediately say “I don’t want have a bunch of people over,” just know my party had two attendees and it was such a good time! I truly have found a love for hosting. Big and small events. I don’t even have a table (yet!) so we had a picnic. I am of the opinion that there is always a reason to celebrate something. Birthdays, Job Promotions, Friendships! Just throw a party and celebrate something!

T: TREAT: Diamond Art

Would you be shocked to hear that I have spent hours working on this barely completed art project? I may not be finished with this project for another year but I know I’m going to be so satisfied once it is finished. It is the perfect t.v. time activity. Especially because I am often tempted to go on my phone while watching my shows. I got this in the clearance section at Michael’s.

SAUCY TAKE OF THE WEEK: Every Age I am is the Best Age

Call it delusion but I am under the genuine impression that every age that I am is the best age. Currently I am 28 years old. 28 is so young, so chic, so it girl. All the other ages that I have been are cool I guess but they just do not compare to 28. When I turn 29… I have a sneaky suspicion that will be the next best age. I truly do not feel old in any capacity. I am young! People who are significantly younger than me? Well they are simply just not at the prime young age yet! I am aging yet I continue to be young. My true superpower.

SAUCY STORY TIME (YAPPER WRITE-INS):

I know the Yapple queen herself is not a viewer of The Summer I Turned Pretty, BUT I AM, and I am dying to know how the yapple falls from the tree here. Need a poll NEOW of who is Team Conrad (duh) and who is Team Jeremiah (why). I mostly want to know if this is a safe space or enemy territory. Thanks!!!!!

The results were taken from the Yapple instagram story. It seems like the Yappers are overwhelmingly Team Conrad (88%).
