Dear Gentle & Saucy Yappers,
Remember when people in college studied abroad and it was their entire personality? That’s what it feels like getting back from a trip. As much as the jokes about the people who study abroad are funny…I am those people. I’ve lived long enough to see myself become the monster and I’m not even mad about it.

JUST READ: All the Colors of the Dark: 2.5 stars (127/144 overall ranking)
I truly thought this book was never going to end. There was no reason for it to be so long. The reviews are so positive and I feel I was gaslit! It was far from a bad book but I was very bored! I also did not enjoy the writing style. I did enjoy the ending which bumped it from a 2 to a 2.5 star read for me.

CURRENTLY READING: Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen
 | I am basically finished with this book (and I need to be because the book club meeting for it is tonight)! This book perfectly goes with the theme of the book club which was a “beach read.” I thought it was going to be a romance but it’s giving more coming of age vibes with a sprinkle of romance. |
E: EATING
Restaurant: BCN Taste & Tradition
 | I had a boujee, Michelin star meal on a Monday night because I can! Also because it is Houston Restaurant Weeks. I have never participated before and I truly do not know why. You can get three course meals at a set price. I truly enjoyed all three of my courses at BCN even though they were very fancy place portioned! If you live in a big city, chances are you have a restaurants weeks and I highly recommend you take advantage! |

Music:
 | I love finding new artists to binge listen to! I found Evan Honer through his more popular song, ‘Jersey Giant.’ His voice is so raspy so I had to listen to more and I was not disappointed. There is something about those folk/country adjacent singers that itch a spot in my brain. Song Recommendation: Jersey Giant - Evan Honer |
Podcasts: Giggly Squad
Yup! More Giggly Squad because Hannah and Paige are my girls! Paige was talking about creative outlets and it hit home! In reference to her brand Daphne, she was talking about caring about a creative outlet so much that you don’t even care what others think of it. Of course I want everyone to love Yapple Sauce, but the reason I do this is just because I love to yap and express myself creatively. If you have a creative itch 1) Go for it! 2) Let me support it because it genuinely has brought me so much happiness!
Television: Sex and the City
 | I am late to the game but I am here! But I’m not sure if I would have appreciated this show as much if I watched it when I was younger. Late-twenties me needed this show more. I am currently finishing up Season 2. Although this show has a large focus on men/relationships, I watch this show and want to get dinner and drinks with my gals! I love a show that celebrates women friendships. Because the men on this show…jump SCARE! |
O: OBSESSED
General: An Art Museum Moment
 | If you recall the cutie book event group I’m in - Office Hours (@officehourssocial), we ran it back with an Art Museum moment! I conquered my claustrophobia for this light room because despite appearances, it was quite small! I just love having fun weekday plans and then afterwards discussing books at dinner!? My dream date! |
Pop Culture: Harry Styles Vibrator
 | Harry Styles dropped a vibrator while I was out of the country and it was the most devastating news I could have missed. The man knows his target audience! I do need to note that this is another side quest away from music…but I’m FINE! |
R: RECOMMEND: Photo Books
 | I love a photo book. If I had the funding, I would make a new one every month. For financial purposes, I have just been making them for my trips! I got the idea from my sister. I use my aesthetic pictures to give it a coffee table book vibe (although I do throw a couple of personal pictures in there)! To my core I am sentimental and nostalgic. Who is looking at these books? Mainly me - over and over again.If you are a picture girly, time to start making your picture books! |
T: TREAT: Cookbook
 | For my cookbook club, I purchased myself a cookbook! I simply did not own one before because I was always under the impression that I could get recipes online for free so why buy the cookbook. I am now sold on cookbooks! First of all, they are so cute. Second, you don’t need to read someone’s life story before getting to the cookbook. And lastly, they are fun! Soon I am starting my dinner party era and this cookbook gave so many cute ideas for the occasion! |
SAUCY TAKE OF THE WEEK: Savannah Bananas
I have been silent for too long. I do not understand the appeal of the Savannah Bananas (unless of course you are a child). If you are a child, you can stop reading this. I’ve enjoyed their tik toks but then I realize that those are being filmed at the games? So are they taking breaks during innings to lip sync to High School Musical for a video? I feel I would feel incredibly uncomfortable watching that. If you are an adult stan of the Savannah Bananas, I actually very much want to hear what the appeal is.
