JUST READ: Say You’ll Remember Me: 3.5 stars (82/129 overall ranking)
This was not my favorite Abby Jimenez book but also not my least favorite! I had three main problems with the book. 1.) There was no build up to the romance. They were both at 100 immediately and willing to drop everything in their lives for each other. Their lives were their struggles and each other. That is all. 2.) There was too much sadness that made it unrealistic to me. I desperately needed one of them to catch a break. He’s poor, was abused as a kid, and has a learning disability. Please pick a struggle. 3.) There were a lot of modern references that I feel will not age well if you read this book in 5 years. Now my qualms probably make it seem like I don’t like the book but it was still very cute and did a good job discussing difficult topics. It just did not live up to my Abby expectations as she is my favorite author!

 | I was immediately confused when this book became available on my Libby because I had no memory of renting this book. When I went to look it up it on Tik Tok it had such drastically different views. There were people crying about the book saying it changed their life and people saying it was the worst book they have ever read. Naturally, I immediately needed to read it. I need to know what side of the controversial opinions I fall into. |
E: EATING
Restaurant: Home Slice Pizza
 | The best kind of pizza is NY style and I will die on that hill. Also, the fold method is the proper way to eat said NY style pizza. Now my hottest pizza take is that sometimes I just want to order a slice of Cheese Pizza. Nothing against the toppings but I am a cheese pizza girl to my core. Now I did order a slice of the Spinach White Pizza to-go because a girl can do both! It was indeed fabulous but I will continue to get my slice of cheese! Sue me! |
Drinks: Extra Drinks
 | Sometimes you have to order the cocktail that everyone turns heads for. The drink equivalent to sizzling fajitas! I didn’t know what I was getting into when ordering a Pineapple Chamoy margarita but this was indeed the correct move. |

Music:
 | The Austin City Limits lineup is out. No one is surprised that I am most pumped to see Hozier because seeing him live is life changing. As far as artists I have never seen, DOECHII! I have seen mixed reviews on the line up but I am here for it. The variety is there. The nostalgia is there. Because T-Pain!? I am sat! Song Recommendation: Nissan Altima - Doechii |
Podcasts: The Broski Report
Before I get into The Broski Report, I am here to present the TSA precheck results. 72.73% of yappers voted for ‘Go in separate lines and meet on the other side.’ I have to say I agree with the majority. Security is a pain and I don’t want to subject anyone to that especially when in precheck you don’t have to remove stuff from your bag. I mean hey, let the quick person go get in a different line for coffee or food or get a good spot at the gate!
Brittney Broski discussed something on her latest episode that has always been on my mind. Who were the first people to eat certain foods. She particularly talked about the first person to slurp an oyster. Desperate times come with desperate measures. But there are so many foods that just do not look even slightly appetizing. Coconuts for example. From watching survivor, it seems like a lot of work to crack one open. I never would look at a coconut and think wow there probably is yummy food inside that fuzzy rock! Shoutout to all the people who were the first to try all the weird looking foods.
Television: The Last of Us
 | I have given it some time since season 2, episode 2 aired but if you do not want spoilers…MOVE ON. Dare I say this was the best episode of the series. I knew this was going to happen because I played the game but it was so much more heartbreaking on the show. How am I to proceed without Pedro Pascal!? This episode was so intense, I swear I had chills for the entire episode. GIVE THIS EPISODE ALL OF THE AWARDS!! |
Movies: Sinners
 | Two Michael B. Jordan’s? I was immediately down to see regardless of the plot. There must be something addictive in this movie because I want to see it again and I want to talk about it with everyone. I truly loved everything about it. The music was the cherry on top of this movie. Also the men in this movie… know how to please a woman! Rating: 10/10 |

General: Book Type Quiz
 | This quiz was brought to my desk several times from yappers because they know me so well! I love any type of personality quiz and this quiz tells you the color reader you are. Pop Culture: The Met Gala
 | If your outfit for the Met Gala is not on theme, I don’t want to see it. I don’t care if you are wearing a beautiful gown! I’d rather see something ugly and on theme than something gorgeous and random. It’s crazy how the theme ‘Tailoring Black Style’ truly gave men a free pass to not dress boring and some of them still did… My opinion of some of the best dressed: Teyana Taylor, Janelle Monae, Jodie Turner Smith, Laura Harrier, Colman Domingo, Doechii, Shaboozey, and Joey King (yes Joey King!) |
R: RECOMMEND: Sunscreen Sticks
 | Truly every sunscreen brand has one of these but I use the Cetaphil one. They are much too small in my opinion to use for any area besides the face. This is my daily face sunscreen to keep my skin young! Sunscreen is always so thick and switching to the stick has been a game changer for my skincare routine! Just ignore my currently burnt nose because clearly I needed to re-apply the stick! |
T: TREAT: Star Cinema Grill
 | I truly need to be sat at a movie theater with reclining chairs at the bare minimum for my movie going experience. Especially when all the movie theater tickets are the same price. But I got a reclining seat, a heated seat, and a full service menu for $7 on a Tuesday at Star Cinema Grill… ya that is the way to see a movie! |
SAUCY TAKE OF THE WEEK: Ugly Cars
This is very much the take of a person who cannot afford a brand new car but I do not care that my car is ugly. Yes she has dents, scratches, a hanging bumper protector, and a missing piece at the front. It gives her PERSONALITY. All I care about with my car is that she works and gets me from point A to point B. Everything else is extra. Now… if anyone is in the market to buy me a new car. I will happily accept! But in the meantime I truly am unbothered by having an ugly car. Flashy cars never did it for me anyway.
YAPPY HOUR: The Downfall of Zaxby’s
This could be a location specific problem but Zaxby’s was my place in college. Cane’s was never even an option. When I moved and had both Zaxby’s and Cane’s as options I liked different aspects of both of them and could not land on my fave! I swear Zaxby’s has given up because now there is zero positive aspects about that establishment. I’m not even a picky gal but truly the quality is gone. R.I.P. to a former favorite of mine!
