RANKING OF THE WEEK: Haribo Gummies
Peaches - Although I wish they made peach rings these are top tier. This is my formal request for a ring.
Streamers - I promise you know what these are. They are one of the better sour candies.
Gummy Bears (Goldbears) - I randomly get obsessed with these once every couple of years
Cherries - Bonus points because they’re cute
Twin Snakes - The only other Haribo gummy I’ve had but honestly not a fan of these

JUST READ: The Calamity Club: 4 stars (57/216 overall ranking)
This might have been the longest book I have ever read or maybe I’m being dramatic. I really enjoyed this story. I felt the ending was a little rushed considering how long the book was but this book featured some strong and versatile women characters so obviously I was sat.
CURRENTLY READING: Berlin by Bea Setton
I am obsessed with the cover of this book. I’m still in the beginning of this book but this is one of those stories where I’m unsure yet of where the plot is going. Sometimes that can be fun and sometimes that plot is never apparent. Stay tuned!

Restaurant: Cooking Girl
I am a general tso chicken stan! Not pictured were the spicy chicken wontons. They weren’t Din Tai Fung but they scratched that itch just enough. There are a few Cooking Girl locations in Houston and this restaurant earned the right to be added to my rotation.
Recipe: Chicken Tortilla Soup
Spoiler alert to the obsessed section but my dinner party this past week was soup themed. I made a chicken tortilla soup in my crock pot and it has made a fabulous leftover.

Don’t get me wrong, I love a Spotify playlist or finding other people’s playlists, but at my past dinner parties I have realized some of them go rogue. The only solution to this was for me to get my ass up and make my own playlist. Souptember’s playlist was the fall feels (aka depressing) but god it was good.

Podcasts: Giggly Squad/Brooke and Connor Make a Podcast
It brings me so much peace knowing that Hyrox was discussed by Paige, Hannah, Brooke, and Connor and none of them knew what it was. No hate to Hyrox participants but I felt like I have been bombarded with it and was a lame outsider for having no affiliation. Of course they found out about it due to the woman going to the bathroom during her Hyrox competition. I will not be discussing that because that is disgusting.
Movies: Toy Story 2
Pregaming my eventual watch of Toy Story 5 with Toy Story 2. This is my favorite Disney franchise and even though they could have stopped after Toy Story 3, I will keep watching because the movies are still good. I think this might be the best Toy Story but I will verify with a ranking once I see Toy Story 5.
O: OBSESSED
General: September Dinner Party
September’s dinner party was Souptember! I don’t care if it’s still hot as hell outside, I am going to pretend that it’s cozy weather time. All of the girls brought a soup to share. My kitchen was full of crock pots. A dream come true! I have been waiting for a chance to do butter name cards and although they took awhile they were worth every second because they looked so cute.
Pop Culture: Harry Styles Again
I think I’m being removed from whatever is happening in pop culture because all I see on my feed is Harry Styles. I’m soaking up all the content because I know it’s fleeting. I do know Taylor Swift is dropping some bonus tracks and some shows are on (per usual) but if there is any juicy celebrity gossip. I’m missing out. Maybe for the best.

I love an activity that reminds me of my childhood. It’s so simple and so fun. My pizza is quite simple but I do need to put balsamic glaze on top. Without it, my personal pizza is not complete.
T: TREAT: Donna’s
Donna’s in Houston was such a cute cocktail bar. The vibes inside were 70’s and on a Wednesday night it was bumping but not too bumping. I ordered the ‘Second Wind’ (pictured on the right) which had cucumber vodka, cantaloupe liqueur, and lemon. It was more sour than I was expecting but I still enjoyed it.
SAUCY TAKE OF THE WEEK: Tik Tok Comments
I think it’s fucked up that Tik Tok puts your friend’s comments at the top. I feel like I’m intruding on their private business. What if they wanted to claim a tarot tik tok but they’re too scared that their friends will see them being delusional. Now I’m talking about myself and full transparency I like the ‘claim’ comments to stay incognito.
YAPPY HOUR: Tik Tok Sound
Every once in awhile a tik tok sound will cross my desk that tickles me to my core. The family guy “we’re all just blocking the street” audio is my new favorite thing. I laugh at EVERY single video that comes my way. The little jingle is also in my head at all times.
