Dear Gentle & Saucy Yappers,

R: READING

JUST READ: Wolfhunter River: 4 stars (69/ overall ranking)

This book series needs a television show. Every book I am on the edge of my seat and picturing a Netflix drama. The show would definitely have the dark/blue tinted lighting that they love to do for thriller dramas. I liked this book more than the second book surprisingly. Surprising because this book started to veer off from the original plot a bit but the author did it well!

CURRENTLY READING: The Night We Met by Abby Jimenez

We all know I am a sucker for an Abby Jimenez book. Unfortunately the last book in this series did not wow me but thankfully I am liking this book much more already. This book is messy and I’m here for it.

E: EATING

Restaurant: Juliet Italian Kitchen

This is an Austin, TX restaurant! I ordered my go-to Italian restaurant pasta of Spicy Vodka Rigatoni. Silly me because despite the title of the dish I forget that this pasta is supposed to be spicy. This was the first Spicy Vodka Rigatoni that I have had that was genuinely spicy. It was a very large portion that I should have shared but it was delicious.

P: PLAYING

Music:

Olivia Rodrigo released a charity single called Serena Joy. If you did not know Serena Joy is a character from the Handmaid’s Tale who helps keep the oppressive system in place even though it is also oppressing her. OLIVIA YOUR MIND. Also the cover for the single is simply the lyrics. She really said if you didn’t listen to the lyrics, go ahead and read them. As if I couldn’t love her more.

Song Recommendation: Serena Joy - Olivia Rodrigo

Podcasts: BNC Make a Podcast

I HAVE BEEN WANTING TO TALK ABOUT THIS TOPIC. Brooke and Conner do not understand it and neither do I. The spam comments of “Send me this post” on Instagram. What do you mean? You are here at the post. You have arrived. There is nothing to be sent.

Television: Dancing With The Stars

My favorite show to watch via Tik Tok highlights is back! I’m excited to see one of my podcast people take the stage - Conner Wood! This show does love to stretch the meaning of a star and that does make me giggle. Because what do you mean we have a husband and sister of people who were already pushing the definition of a star on this season? Two stars removed some might say.

Movies: A League of Their Own

I know a television show was made inspired by this movie so I wanted to see the original! It was a cute movie. The sister dynamic in this movie crushed my soul a bit but I enjoyed it overall. I can now cross off another classic movie from my list.

O: OBSESSED

General: Boat Day

I am obsessed with a boat day. When people ask the question to describe your perfect day, mine always involves a boat. I just want to be a mermaid in the water and then eat a sandwich and sip some drinks in between. If a boat day is happening, immediately involve me.

Pop Culture: Daisy Chain Fields Festival

Olivia Rodrigo’s festival, ‘Daisy Chain Fields,’ happened this past weekend and I have major FOMO. It just seemed like the definition of what music festivals should be and girl power. The proceeds went to several nonprofits supporting women including Baby2Baby, Black Mamas Matter Alliance, Center for Reproductive Rights, Freefrom, JHPIEGO, John Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health, National Domestic Workers Alliance, National Institute for Reproductive Health, National Women’s Law Center, and Planned Parenthood. $20 million to these organizations. Full body chills! Olivia, the woman you are.

R: RECOMMEND: Quench Jelly

My skin was dry so my facial girl recommended their quench jelly. Personally would have come up with a better name for this product but I have the rose water one. I put it on before moisturizing and it makes my skin feel so soft and hydrated.

T: TREAT: Bachelorette Party

My treat this week was attending one of my best friend’s bachelorette parties. I am a hater of people who are haters of bachelorette parties. They are so fun! Seeing my friend being celebrated while surrounded by women having a girly swirly time? My dream date!

SAUCY TAKE OF THE WEEK: Lakes > Ocean

Most time when I write a saucy take, I feel like I have some supporters. But this one I would understand if everyone disagreed but HEAR ME OUT. I feel like everyone is thinking about the shore in this scenario. Yes, the shore of a beach is much nicer but as a hater of the sand I do not want to be on the shore. I want to be out in the water. People say they don’t like lakes because you can’t see what’s below you. You can’t see what’s below in an ocean if you are far out either! At least I know in a lake there isn’t anything too scary below me. The fresh water of lakes also does wonders for my skin and hair. I prefer a lake because I want to be out in the middle but also see the shore. You can’t do that with the ocean. Aesthetically and shore wise oceans win. I will never argue that. But the vibes I want when I’m in the water? Lakes win!

YAPPY HOUR: Men on Elevated Surfaces

Get down. Immediately. Why do you as a man feel that people want to see you even more than we already do. Let’s make it worse by these men also being on Instagram live while on these surfaces? Disgusting. Elevated surfaces are a safe place for women. Stop invading our spaces.

It's Here: Pique's New Caffeine-Free Afternoon Energy

I quit my afternoon coffee. Not because I wanted to — because I found something better.

You know that wall you hit every day around 2–3 PM? I used to just accept it as the cost of doing anything. Another coffee, a quick spike, then the crash — and somehow I'd still feel dehydrated by dinner.

Then I tried X·E Fountain, Pique's brand-new electrolyte energy drink, and I genuinely wasn't ready for how good "no crash" could feel.

No caffeine jitters. No 4 PM slump. Just clean, steady energy that actually hydrates me instead of draining me. It's built with a premium Vitamin B Complex for natural cellular energy, Magnesium Malate + Taurate for real focus, and a full electrolyte blend that makes it feel like a treat, not a chore.

The cucumber-celery-lime flavor is so crisp and refreshing — it's basically stolen my afternoon coffee slot completely.

2 minutes. Your URL. A customer profile worth using.

Most founders can describe their product. They can't describe their customer. Not in a way that actually changes how they sell.

HubSpot for Startups built a free tool to fix that. Paste in your URL, answer a few quick questions, and it generates a structured profile of your best-fit customer. Firmographics, buying triggers, the works.

Takes 2 minutes. No spreadsheet required.
