Elf - obviously a seasonal specific comfort movie but it still deserves it’s flowers

JUST READ: By the River’s Edge: 2 stars
This is a true crime story and I can’t put my finger on it exactly but this story just did not interest me. The story largely focused on the interview with the murderer and the trial so that probably has a lot to do with my lack of interest.

Restaurant: Agnes and Sherman
Oh I will be back! I enjoyed everything I ate here. The Asian diner fusion was so unique, flavorful, and fun. Pictured is the cheeseburger fried rice which I will think about forever. We also had their wings (amazing), rice cakes (delicious), and pandan sundae (that bowl was EMPTY). There was something about this restaurant that made me remember that Houston has a lot of cool and yummy restaurants that I have yet to discover.

Megan Thee Stallion announced that Act III is coming soon! On Michelle Obama’s podcast (you read that correctly), she discussed that she wants to reintroduce Tina Snow to new listeners who aren’t familiar. TINA SNOW WILL BE BACKKK. Time for me to have Tina Snow on repeat.

Television: The Idaho Murders: College Nightmare
I did not expect to cry as much as I did while watching this docuseries. I try to ethically consume true crime although I know that is not entirely possible but I thought this documentary did a good job on focusing on the victims. The killer in this documentary was truly a side character. If you have not watched the impact statement given by Kaylee’s sister, I highly recommend you watch it. Be prepared to be in awe of how much of a bad ass she is but also to cry, especially if you are an older sister.
Movies: Wicker
I’m late to the party on discussing this movie trailer but honestly it was important for me to sit with it. I’m here for a freaky deaky movie for the girlies! I’m also here for the women yearning for a basket men. It goes to show the dire state of single women because yes the dating pool is that horrible. I will be sat in the theatres come October.

General: Book Bedazzling
I hit a genuine flow state while bedazzling my book. I yearned to bedazzle more but I didn’t want to mess up how perfect it looked. I don’t remember exactly where I obtained this book but it feels like it gained additional power through the rhinestones.
Pop Culture: Tyga Pitchfork Review
I’m not in tune with album reviews but everyone is talking about Tyga’s new album receiving a 0.0 on Pitchfork, a score that has not been given in 20 years. The article goes INNNN on calling out the AI slop and I am here for it. I leave you here with this iconic quote from the article.

I like to think of myself as an above average gift giver! I love shopping for gifts on Etsy! Etsy truly has an infinite amount of options for gifts. I won’t even know specifically what gift I’m searching for but eventually I will find the correct vibe for my divas! Support a small business and get your friend something unique and chic.
T: TREAT: Pre-Walk Matcha
Matcha is the perfect pre-walk treat. Now, I was silly and ordered a drink with coconut and didn’t love the coconut flavor. Why did I not like it? Because I don’t like coconut. I have come to the conclusion that I like coconut flakes but I don’t enjoy coconut flavoring. I still drank every sip of my matcha because that was my bad entirely.
SAUCY TAKE OF THE WEEK: Samyra
There is a plus sized creator on Tik Tok named Samyra who is getting a lot of hate right now. I don’t even entirely know what she is getting hate for currently. She has been making content for a long time about the struggles of being plus size. Right message, wrong execution perhaps? Whatever the latest scandal she is involved in… the worst she has done is potentially be annoying. There are bigger fish to fry! There are creators who are doing much work and not receiving the type of hate she is. Like I said, I’m not knowledgeable about what the latest scandal is but every time I saw people up and arms about her it was giving the vibe that she was rage baiting and people finally had excuse to let out their internalized fatphobia. They hate to see annoying women on the internet. They hate to see fat women be annoying on the internet. Let people be plus sized and annoying! Scrolling is an option.
YAPPY HOUR: New Reply Guy
Last week I introduced you all to the reply guy. As promised, I am here to introduce the new reply guy. I call him the “Check-In Guy.” He is a very similar to the reply guy but he is a step above. This man likely has likely gone on a singular date with you or has had a couple of meet ups with you at most. After that date he never pulled through again. He wasn’t interested in you clearly? Wrong! He went on the date with you, realized you are much too good for him but he cannot let you go. He will hit you up for the rest of your life or at the very least a very prolonged amount of time. He is going to engage in reply guy behaviors such as liking and commenting on social media stories but he is also going to send you texts to check in on you. Super fan behavior.
